Simon, I think you're the first person on earth (except Euronymous) who played this solo exactly the way it was meant to play. Genius! Just bought your Udemy course.
@@St0neyBal0gney Well maybe, but my understanding is that Euronymous didn't drive a whole town over, go into a guy's appartment and kill him slowly stabbing him more than 20 times
@@St0neyBal0gney you don’t know that and take edgy things people say a bit too seriously. Everyone knows Euronymous was more of an opportunist who talked big. You also sound like someone who’d apologise for Varg’s lunacy, who we know isn’t just a murderer, but one who brutally murdered someone on a paranoid delusion that he was going to be killed (it isn’t self defence when your so-called killer is running away for his life with stab wounds). He also engaged in arson, and is actively promoting an insanely backward ideology that he earnestly believes in to this day. Yeah, some of them were bad people and Varg is the absolute worst.
Wow, that's great, do you have the sheet music? I am a violinist and I really want to play black metal on my violin, now I am trying to play this by ear, but I have problems with some notes due to the distortion of the sound, I would really appreciate it a lot if you could share the solo score with me. Greetings.
I love this, it's great that you've learned it to teach us how to do it. I'll learn this solo. Btw, could you do some "tutorial" or give us advice on how to understand some riffs or solos when there's a loooot of distortion, the recording is raw, dirty and basically sounds like a storm? There are some raw bands (black, death or technical) that have a very cryptic sound and you can feel it sounds good, but it's incredibly hard to decrypt exactly what they're doing.
@@kostka8152 yea it was pretty bad but I wouldn’t say he wasn’t a good guitarist he was mad decent and getting better you gotta remember he was like 22 at the time and still learning
so starting at 3:29 are you picking down up for every fret or picking down for one fret then up for the next fret. Im so confused. i been practicing this for 2 weeks now and still cant play it very fast at all, im just down picking it all as of right now
@Simon Smith: I have actually started this week trying to learn this, but how the hell do I memorize all these individual notes in a reasonable time frame? What tips do you have there for me?
@@SimonSmithGuitar It's not a lesson of a song if you don't teach the whole song. but jokes aside that would be nuts given your back catalog at the minute.
