Here's how to test and flush your brake fluid. This happens to be my daily driver (Mazda 3 2010), but the procedure is similar on any car. One thing to consider is where the ABS controller is. If it's in the back of the car, then you want to flush from the longest distance from the ABS as possible.
The brake fluid reservoir on my car is obstructed which makes extracting or testing the fluid harder.
A power bleeder would be helpful here to quickly pull that old fluid out, but we used the two person method instead. I don't have a power bleeder. The small handheld pump doesn't really work any faster so I'd recommend an air or battery powered vacuum bleeder.
