The time is now.
We are proud to introduce the Mazda MX-30, our first all-electric vehicle.
With its unique freestyle doors, ecological materials and right-sized battery giving a range of approximately 124 miles - exceeding the 30 miles average daily drive of the European customer and 26 miles average daily drive of all Mazda owners (according to Mazda DSR 2018 data) - the Mazda MX-30 marks another positive step in our multi-solution approach to reducing emissions following the recent arrival of our innovative Skyactiv-X engine.

Readers and viewers...this is a neat, useful, relevant car for city family life and not meant to be a trans Europe express. It is a car for daily life, has useful doors. Looks far better than the. BMWi3, has nice interesting details and I hope is a big success. So don’t be so harsh...what shape would you come up with that has to have universal appeal, drive well, be well made, do what most people want and at a price that hopefully is not ridiculous like £34000 for the i3.

Two things I hate about car adverts (yes this one too) 😳 1) Not enough shown of the car; like I want to see the body shape and interior in good length segments. 2) Music does not match the nature of the car. This is a electric car, so I expect calm and smooth music. Or even Electronic music. However, I like the fact you showed the MX5, that is iconic! 👌

Good looking car. The front looks like something’s missing perhaps need to increase the lights width. 124 miles range? My 2015 Zoe does that. Won’t keep up with the competition I’m afraid.

Make an AWD-version with a rear-axle-motor and that wankel-driven generator. Probably with a stronger battery as well. It would be useful in Norway, Finland and Sweden. The Alps... Russia... Anywhere with snow. Snowy suburbs :)

Apparently it going to have a rotary engine "range extender", presumably run as a generator. To me that makes it a hybrid.

I think their range is perfect! You can get this car for around 23.000€ including incentives here in Germany. That is an absolute bargain ! And it is mainly because of the smaller battery size that they can offer it at that low price. I drive around 30km per day to work and back, for long trips my girlfriend has a normal car. This is just perfect for us - and for the environment. Thanks Mazda!

It has a lowly 124 miles of range. They have really got this wrong. They rely on the fact that most people drive 30 miles a day or less. This car is fine for town but anything more, forget it.

@@JiBenJiBee well, the co2 that for recycling the battery is huge, and the thing is that the battery would need replacing just after 6 years, and that may cost almost 60% of the car price. Nissan leaf battery cost over 30,000 euro to change one. Electric cars are alternative and live with fuel car, not completely taking over traditional cars.

I love my Mazda cx5 and I was hoping to buy a similar car from Mazda but one with electric drive. This is no good at all. Looks so odd with its huge front end and small rear doors. I hope this does not make it production.

Damn that's actually a really good render. The lighting on and shadows under the car are a bit off but you're gonna have a lot of people convinced it was a real car driving down the road. Any news as far as drivetrain variants? AWD/RWD/FWD?

I'll be honest this is the first electric car I like the look of. The Tesla's look to generic and stuff like the honda e look too much like they were trying to be weird and futuristic. I don't really like the crossover style of cars that are popular now but it looks good for one of them.

It comes with full matrix led headlights for the special "first edition". Standard edition has "regular" full led lights

Overall shape is OK, but can someone explain the connection between an electric vehicle and stupid doors! First the BMW, now the Mazda. Is four decent doors too much to ask? I do not wish to travel in any vehicle where I cannot get out of the back without the cooperation of the front passenger - who after an accident may be unconscious.

124 mile range - so that’s less than 100 miles in real world / summer & winter etc. Can’t help but think they should have increased range to 175 ish and it would appeal to so many more people. My eGolf has a 150 mile range ! They could have tempted me away from VW , looks great but not with poor range. A real shame. Oh and dreadful marketing Video ! Show me the car not models drinking coffee etc

😂 Oh mein Gott, was für ein mega schlechtes Video. Die zeigen ja mehr das mega hippe Pärchen als das Auto. Sieht fast aus wie 'ne IKEA Werbung 🙈. Und dann blenden die noch kurz einen MX5 ein?! Was soll das? Vielleicht damit man mal 'n vernünftiges Auto sieht. Man ist der Clip schlecht gemacht 🤮.

Range too small, interior too dark (a common feature on many new cars), wheel arches look awful, front is boring, back is boring and the doors are ridiculous.

The Mazda x30 is the worst thing Mazda have invented get real there is nothing attractive about the interior. I'm not a Mazda hater I love all the other cars but this car is a death trap .If you want me to elaborate take for instance the suicide doors at the back and the porthole vision from back window and don't get me going about the poor range
