Hi mate, what are the newer 2018 > engines like for carbon? I've a 2019 Mazda 6 184ps which also has adblue, are these any better than the earlier engines that have cam / carbon problems
Great work! Indeed this a dirty and time consuming task but certainly needed. On this engine once you open the valves on one cilinder all the other valves are closed so you can safely clean all remaining 6 ports. Have you tried some sort of cleaning liquid for the ultrasonic cleaner? Does it make any difference compared with boiled water?
You can get cleaning solutions for ultrasonic baths and yes, it should make a difference. Oil does not like to mix with water... a bit of chemical help is required.
I just did my 2017 skyactiv 2.2 diesel mazda today, it stared OK but turbo boost is not working. I didn't check if the valves were closed so maybe I've clogged up the turbo with the carbon that feel inside during the cleaning? Now also DPF is showing as clogged up
Great video Mr NiceGuy are you a mechanic by trade as it very professional. If you are do you offer a cleaning service for the EGR and if you do where are you located in the UK as it seems quite dirt work
I am not a mechanic by trade. I have a garage in Lingfield, Surrey where I offer various services not just carbon cleaning 😉 So feel free to reach out if you would like to get yourself booked in. I do a quite lot of carbon cleanings. You can message me on my facebook page. Same username and profile pic as on here. Best Regards 😉
