Best Childhood RPG Ever. I loved reading the booklet. I loved the cutscenes. I loved the story (i didn’t complete it thought, maybe i can soon) I loved the combat (it was new to me when i was young so i was amazed) I loved the characters (the booklet made me enjoy them because of their story)
use to play this all the time as a kid, although we didn't have a memory stick for some reason so we left the PS1 on all night for like 3 weeks as me and my older brother went through this - loved it.
arc the lad 2 is my favorite because as Elk you are determined to hunt down Arc and his group who you clearly know that by the time gallarno's troops were massacering Elk's village Arc is just trying to hi jack the main airship of Gallarno. it is very player engaging and it will hook you up on how the story goes at the time.
Man. These companies would make a killing if they found a cheap way to print off old games like this. Sort of like the return of vynil. But itd have to be affordable. If i could buy a "new" psx for less than 100 and all my fav games for 10 to 20 bucks each id probably spemd it even tough emulation is fairly easy to do.
After finding this 5 years later, figured I would chime in that there is a sequel to Arc the Lad 3. Its on the WonderSwan console. Arc the Lad: Resurrection of the Machine God. It takes place 3 years after ATL3 dealing with a time traveler.
Did you ever 100% all 4 counting the arena, the 1000 battles, item transfers, and full character leveling across the series are killing me and ive been playing the series since I was maybe 10 but I'm trying to do a full series runthrough? You can totally check your exp in one btw. You just pull up your individual character menus in battle.
@@danielraposo9778 Great series, I actually originally played the ps2 game twilight of spirits, and yea it is really different it definitely made me wanna play the originals.
@@anusperfecto4786 There is also Arc the Lad: The end of darkness. I haven't played twilight of spirits and Arc the Lad the end of darkness. I have only played the 3,2, and Arc the Lad.
Good video man, but just one minor criticism: I don't think you should go into details that reveal spoilers, even if they are only minor. E.g. when you said in Arc II that the characters you recruit have interesting back stories, then proceeded to tell us what some of these were. Another example was when you told us there were cameos in Arc III, then spoilered which characters would be making an appearance. Or in all of the games, you spoke about all the different characters who would be joining your party. I just think it would serve your reviews better to keep these kind of details sparse, and let the players discover them for themselves. For me, part of the fun of an RPG is not knowing who I'm going to meet, and who will be joining my protagonist on their journey. Otherwise I enjoyed the video and found it useful (I'm going to purchase all of the ARC games now).
it's all fine. it's not a new game. even older than some of you here on youtube. instead listening just start the game already since it got your attention. lol
@@danielraposo9778 i assume its the us region version it works on my us ps1 the disc covers r red with the face of arc on the first nd elc the 2nd etc the only one that is the same is arena
@@capcom23 No actually....a lot of people look up obscure games to try out. Spoilers are spoilers, regardless of how old a game is. Downvoting it without watching it.
gonna be honest, i was the same. i was never able to complete the second, as something always happened that stopped me from continue playing it. but i have to admit, something in 3 just kept me coming back again and again.
Why the endless speech which does not let US listen to the sounds and music? Pleaaaseee keep in mind it's about THE GAME not yourself showing how deep is your knowledge
