I just recently finished this game myself, and watching your footage I am wondering if you knew about the ability to lock onto an enemy using L2 and then being able to strafe around the locked on enemy using L1 and R1? Using this method, unless you're swamped by multiple enemies, it's a lot easier to dodge and get in your four hit combo, which then knocks the enemy down.
When I played I thought one of the best features was playing as other characters as each was unique and different. This fact is mentioned in passing but in actual fact really expanded the game. I remember one of the alternate characters had a laser gun which was a lot of fun. Not an easy game to understand or explain but you did pretty good.
Never heard nor played previous Arc games, but I played this one and I loved it. Would I play this game again? Probably not, don't want to ruin that childhood feeling. Arc the Lad: End of Darkness was my only RPG game when I had a PS2, so I loved it a lot.
if you beat Twilight of the Spirits and save the final file then this game can load that information and use it in this game as the previous game's story and characters will have what you gave them in Twilight of the Spirits including the cards of the weapon/armor/ skill that represents what they had.
Essentially End of Darkness is to Twilight of Spirits, what Arc the Lad 3 is to Arc the Lad 2! Except 3 was an okay-ish game. While End of Darkness just CEMENTS that the story should have ended in Twilight of Spirits (what makes it WORSE is Twilight essentially CONCLUDED the entire story of the series with the END of the Dark One as he met his FINAL defeat in Twilight which might as well be Arc the Lad 4 story wise! And Arc the Lad 3 was more turning 2's story ending into a more optimistic ending as at LEAST you can say the Dark One was sealed away for good, to the point he had to WAIT till the events of Twilight of Spirits which is from what I guess 1000 of years later!) Best to say I don't care for this one and essentially just treat the story as concluding in 4/Twilight of Spirits and End of Darkness is an unnecessary after story (Tales of Xilla 2 was similar to End of Darkness, but that one wasn't TOO bad and I feel TERRIBLE comparing that game to this one!)
Big fan of RPGs and JRPGs, but I didn't enjoy this game much. After hours and hours of playing you don't feel ANY stronger and still do pretty much the same damage and have the same stats as when you start the game. The online mode sucked really bad too.
