He destroyed Jay Cutler's career, and confidence. All he needed was a freaking Defense! His defense was like 31st and couldn't stop Brady Quinn?😂😂 Well, 4500yards and 25tds isn't good enough to be a starter in McDaniel's world and instead Kyle Orton would be better QB!
He inherited a team with: the #1 pass-blocking line in the league, Tony Scheffler, Alphonso Smith, Peyton Hillis, Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, Elvis Dumervil, and Champ Bailey. He was in arguably the weakest division in football. and in some magical fashion he was unable to make the playoffs, and in fact, put the team in a hole it will take years to crawl out of. How is this possible? It is a cardinal sin in my household to speak "his" name. I refer to him only ass Hitler Von Satanstein...
basically from what I understand here is that he wanted a tool or whipping boy to be his QB. Jay Cutler didn't fit the criteria. Stupid fool boy ruined the Broncos and all I can say now is BEAR DOWN! I hope the Broncos can recover, they don't deserve the same that McJagOff has brought to them.
@d33balla Josh McDaniels is destroying the franchise. I'm glad you believe that critical thinking Bronco fans are nothing more than "fair weathered fans." Denver fans take it up in the ass with McDaniels inept moves like getting rid of Cutler, Marshal, Scheffler, Hillis and most importantly defensive coordinator Mike Nolan. Just keep rooting the self destruction of the Broncos. Critical thinking be damned.
Actually a lot of Bear fans are happy with Cutler. Chicago is known to be really cut throat against under performing QB's. It's funny that you call him pouter but in the sports wire a lot Bronco players are not happy with McDaniel. Since Cutler has been in Chicago, he's been very professional about things even the tough questions. He hasn't whined, pouted or anything. Chicago has a bad O line and inexperienced WR's. It was until recently that the Bears used an experienced WR.
I have to say, trading Cutler ended up not being a totally bad call. But his team management skills were clearly shit. Maybe someday he'll be ready. But head coaches that young rarely make it in the NFL.
Cutler reached career peaks in annual yards and lowest sack percentage the last year he was at Denver. His INT % was 3rd lowest of his career. Thd 2008 Denver D was last in total defense and last in turnovers generated.
Get him out of Las Vegas raiders we need you Denver fans to voice fire josh unite with us raiders so we can get back to excellence and good old rivalries
Yeah? That's exactly why they lost the last game missing the playoffs. He called out Marshal on a press conference in regards to the injury. A good coach does that in the locker room. So you can come up with any excuse, you'll see the Broncos down ward spiral.
the guy u were talking about is mike tomlin and the difference was that the steelers had a superbowl team ready and the broncos werent anywhere close to a superbowl since the late 90s, but as a bear fan i wish you guys good luck
This trade would have been good for Denver. You know, if we used the picks correctly and Orton wasn't such a bum AND McDaniels didn't trade Marshall and Hillis and Scheffler.
Cutler: 24-29 as a starter. I didn't understand what the big deal was at the time, and now the guy is still an underachiever that throws too many picks.
so does brett farve but his career is just fine, cutler reminds me of farve cutler has a cannon arm hes a risk-taker and he can use his legs when he needs to and when the broncs play D he wins most of the time
In 2023 in retrospect I’m glad I had to pain myself with the few McDaniels years because without them we wouldn’t have gotten Tebow Mania and we wouldn’t have gotten Peyton Manning.
McDaniels was a brilliant football mind that was given way too much control. He was meant to only be the HC, but somehow with Pat's Alzheimers and things happening he was given more rope to hang himself than any other 32 year old HC in history. Tebow was so much better in 2010, that I would have loved us to install Elway with the control and McD for coaching. Tebow could have been better, and though I am happy we got Manning, I think 2010 till now would have been more fun with Tebow than with what has happened since 2015.
just wait and see, Mike Shanahan will return to the NFL and he will win just wait. Also the Broncos will still be losers after all of this, I love the Broncos but McDaniels will ruin the Broncos even more just wait and see. All the Broncos needed this year was build up the defense, the offense was crazy only the defense, Shanahan was not the problem. Look at Denver's wide receiver tandem, one of the best in the league right?
he is mini Bill,he obviously takes his sense of dress from the man. McDaniels said he was committed to making it work,ja's our man-that last 1 week, wow, now that is committment.Pat Bowlen emailed ticket holders calling Jay Cutler insubordinate.Jay said he would appear for everything mandatory-he's not obligated to take calls from the owner,it's not like it was a pressing matter. Who cares if they got lots of picks, picks that potentially will pay off only to be traded for more picks,Denver Donks
I hear you dude, chill the fuck out fellow bronco fans. they're doing a billion times better than we thought they would do at the start of the year, they'll beat philly tommorow and be in playoffs. Did Jay Cutler ever do that?
Assuming Bronco players won't quit on Mcdaniel the way they did this season. Now Denver has to decide if they should resign Orton or use the the 1st round pick from the Bears to get a QB. Since the Bears ended at 7-9 they'll get the 11th or 12th pick. By that time all the good QB's will be gone. Broncos are the 3rd team since the merger to choke after a 6-0 start to the season.
the Broncos are exactly where they should be considering the enormous rebuilding effort. You idiots assumed we would be 3-13 by now, but 8-8 apparently isn't good enough. Next year we'll be 11-5 with excellent playoff potential.
Lets look at Cutler stats for this year compared to Orton. Orton is 6-1 as a starter, and Cutler is 4-3. Orton has 9 TDs and Cutler has 11. Orton has 1 INT, Cutler has 11. Bottom line Orton takes care of the ball alot better than Cutler.
Lovie Smith is not a good coach. I wanted Lovie, Angelo, and Philips fired. It took injuries and shuffling of players to find out we do have some decent players.
So I am not supposed to be upset that the Broncos are only going to win 5 games this year because this guy wants to go his ego trip? Handle this problem with a little diplomacy and work on getting some D-linemen. They still can't stop the run or get to the quarterback. Now quarterback is a weakness too. Pro bowlers don't come around every day and Kyle Orton and Chris Simms aren't the answer. We will see how happy everyone is with this clown when we are top ten in the draft this year.
I can understand why Brandon Marshall wants out of denver, kyle ortan cant give him the ball. he sucked with the bears and he wont do any better in denver. way to go josh
@RafaNadal08 First off Josh took an average team and made them a bad team. His record speaks for itself. After starting 6-0 last season he has only won 5 games since. Trading Peyton Hillis to the Browns for Brady Quinn was an EPIC FAIL. Quinn hasn't taken a snap all season while Hillis has rushed for over 1,000 and scored 11 TD's in 13 games. As for Parcells, when he took over The Giants, Patriots and Jets (who were in worst shape than the Broncos) he got them into the playoffs his second year.
This Josh kids looks like a little punk. How old is this guy? Good job Denver---put a wet behind the ears kid in charge of a solid franchise. What a disservice to your fans.
Another Jeff George - that's about the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Also, sorry he didn't lead Denver to multiple Super Bowls during those 2 full seasons he was a starter there (25% of which he spent practically dying from diabetes - nice medical staff you've got there, Denver). I guess the huge sample size of 2 full seasons as a starter, with a horrible defense, proves without a shadow of a doubt that he's not a winning QB. You're right.
cutler has started longer. who cares, good protection or bad, he still sucked. rodgers gets pressured most games too and he only has one (uno) interseptions.
Without young Josh McDaniels being such an amazing evaluator of offensive talent, and getting rid of Shanny's primadonnas, we would have been stuck with Cutler, and never gotten to Tebow and onto Manning. Without Josh inviting Elway back we might not have been where we are. The sad thing is that he was given more responsibility than any other young HC ever, Bowlen were suffering from Alzheimers and the support structure was not in place. Sad that he was fired and we got John Fox as it would have been much better to get a good GM to support Josh instead of setting him up to fail. The 2nd best trade in Broncos history was this one!
I did watch.Did u?Or did u just look up the stats? When D puts u down 28-0 right off the bat UR gonna have to force some throws downfield.Add to that shitty OLine & coaching, WRs fumbling, its an uphill battle.Thats OK, reactionary losers start panicking after 6 games. This is a 10-year run for Cutler as QB in Chi. U probly also thought Brees, Rodgers,Elway,Favre,Eli, Orton all sucked in their early days. Cutler makes way more positive plays than negative ones. People who know football can see this
So you claim to be a life long Bronco fan that hates the Broncos because Cutler is not here anymore??? You obviously hate Elway too, because you refered to him a the ULTIMATE CRYBABY. Need I remind you how many career games had Elway started in the NFL when he said he refused to play for the Colts???? Cutler had started in 35 game before he heard that he could be traded. You don't sound like you were a Broncos fan at all, if you had such a problem with Elway.
I've gotta say, I thought Denver was going to be terrible this team, and I remember that fool mark clayton on espn saying they would go 3-13.....welllll he was abit off
I as a Broncos fan was in rejoice from this since cutler isn't good under pressure and Kyle Orton had record numbers with Denver, therefore I believe Orton was better then cutler
broncos will always'be one of the top, organizations in the league.they alaways have been and they alaways will be,sure they will have som bad seasons, just like any other team, every team looses games, anybody can beat any body any given sunday, you win some you loose some, you learn from loosing.and you get better.they will be back on top again, just like they have done,in the 70s 80s 90s 2000.not to many teams do that, consistantly
McDaniels was obviously a failure as head coach, but this trade was a colossal win. Jay Cutler and a fifth for Kyle Orton and a third straight up would basically be a wash...but for the Broncos to get 2 first rounders out of it as well .......shit...that's a great fvcking deal for the Broncos. If the draft picks didn't pan out, that's a separate issue. They FLEECED the Bears to get those picks though.
The Bears got robbed! Jay Cutler has not proven himself to be a winning QB. At this point he looks nothing more than another Jeff George. Oh well the QB curse in Chicago lives on.
