Chick-fil-A has long dominated the chicken sandwich category in fast food. After Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen launched its own version of the chicken sandwich, other fast food chains like Wendy's and Shake Shack got into the battle. McDonalds is testing a new chicken sandwich in Houston and Knoxville, and analysts have predicted the fast food chain will launch its chicken sandwich sometime in 2020. Who's winning the chicken sandwich wars and what will 2020 hold?

It's fast and convenient especially if you're going there to pick up coffee as well. Why go to two different places if you're pressed for time. Plus their sandwiches, salads, and pastries are reasonably priced. They still taste decent even if they're not fresh. The Starbucks inside by building and the other 3 within a few blocks are always packed with plenty of people buying food as well. Could just be a New York thing, but I've seen it happen in San Francisco and Toronto when I was sent there for projects as well. I can't imagine Starbucks being as popular for fast food in small towns or the suburbs though. They probably focus more on drinks in those areas.

Wendy's Chicken sandwich is pretty bad. Yes, better than McDonalds, but that's not a high bar to beat. Chic-Fil-A is best IMHO. Popeyes is REALLY good but still not quite as good as CFA. Zaxby's sandwiches are good too but they're mostly just in the southeast.

Raising Can'e sandwich is a chicken strip sandwich. It's a different style and not something I like (KFC and Zaxby's used to do this style too). It's too annoying to eat because with it being separate pieces of chicken they fall out while you're eating unless you death grip the sandwich and ruin the bread.

Does anybody remember the last time McDonald's tried to copy Chick-Fil-A? I was working at a Chick-Fil-A in 2008 in Virginia and McDonald's introduced a carbon copy of the Chick-Fil-A sandwich that my manager brought in one their sandwiches and showed it to us and said: "This is what you DON'T do!". LOL!. Granted, personally, I didn't think McDonald's sandwich was all that bad, but I'm not a picky eater, but it wasn't as good as Chick-Fil-A's sandwich, lol!. :)

In Australia, McDonald’s has a burger called “the chicken clubhouse” It has brioche bun, Big Mac special sauce, spicy sauce, Chicken burger, Leaf lettuce, Tomato, Bacon, Grilled onion and real cheese not plastic cheese that honestly wins the chicken burger game hands down

It doesn't surprise me the ingredients list is that simple. It seems in every country outside the USA food vendors use real (often fresher) food for their dishes. We Americans are served salt, sugar, and high fructose corn syrup. It's all the more reason I haven't ate out in forever.

@@justinalvarez687 When I go to Popeyes I buy their actual fried chicken pieces, which do have flavor. Their sandwich is lacking, though. The point is, that sandwich is overhyped through social media marketing. Those viral videos of "taste tests" and "Popeyes vs. Chik Fil a" have everyone going nuts over a basic ass sandwich. Popeyes already had that damn sandwich, then they took it away for a minute and brought it back using the tactic of paying social media influencers to hype up the sandwich like it's new and amazing and y'all fell for it...talking bout: "yo, you tried that *new* Popeyes chicken sandwich?"

I have NEVER experienced love at first sight. I never believed in it. But then I tried the Popeyes sandwich..and it was like I stared into the eyes of god. I've only had chick fil a and thought it was the pinnacle of chicken sandwich but sad to say, I can never go back... Plus they're open on Sundays which is when I strangely crave a sandwich

Although the popeyes sandwich is great, i'll choose wendy's due to value. $3.99 for 1 sandwich at popeyes vs 2 for $5 at wendy's & i can opt for a burger as my 2nd choice if i dont want 2 chicken sandwiches. Plus i have the frosty key tag for a free frosty 🙂🙂🙂.
