I think one of the best ad jingles of the 80s. I'd be interested to know who composed/performed on it. Very clever musically with the time sig change at the start - gives it a rather quirky sound. Nice
I have this advert on VHS, and I always loved it. I'm actually glad that some of my old VHS recordings have adverts on them, because they are just as nostalgic as the shows themselves, to me. Nothing wrong with them using "I'm Lovin' It" if they want to, but this song will always be the McDonald's song to me - no matter what they do.
haha!! i loved this advert. That's the uniform i used to wear too!! i had a VHS with all these ads on. Pinched it right after they sat us down in the training room to watch them.....happy times! lol
I've got this on VHS, included with a recording of the original BFG animated film, that was on. There was also a weird ad for the Citroen BX, that was filmed in reverse, and the old Toshiba TV ad with the slogan "'Allo Tosh, got a Toshiba?"
Hey Dawn - some of us were sixth formers flipping burgers/mopping floors. Its a lovely little snapshot of the late 80s - all of us making junk food look glamorous - including your good self!
haha thanks Robert...six formers ? haha. I was still at school and I remember having to film a Take 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 + and each time I had to take a bite of cold food. Great memory tho.
Any day... from early morning and to late at night, Everyday... the red and gold is always shining bright, There's one sign that says you're welcome, a visit to McDonald's makes your day. a quarter pounder big mac and french fries, food pies milkshake coffee on the side, McD O,N,A,L,D,S nothing but our very best, Make your day make your way to the sign that says you're welcome, a visit to McDonald's makes your day.
This was shown around Christmas 1988. I remember it... although the addition of the bells to this series of ‘Make your Day’ adverts... gives it away slightly.
One thing I remember is that they had Ronald McDonald on the early morning adverts when kids were up at weekends watching CITV and this advert was on for the rest of the day.
LOL I have not seen this in years !!!! I was an extra in this ad .. as another school girl ! i remember the days of filming this so clearly. It was filmed at McDonalds in Chiswich, London.
Make your day, make your way, to the sign that say's you're welcome. A visit to the pound shop makes your day. Would you like fries with that? Have a nice day.
It looked exactly as it did in this ad right up until 2008, when it got the olive green revamp. It closed in 2014 and became Poundland in 2015, which is how it remains to this day. :(
@@Vaultboy101 ah this is so sweet God bless you I used to do promotionl work in Blue Water Kent & i see&spoke to her there too She ws extremely thankful & sweet 🙏
I'll always remember seeing a McDonalds advert which had Ronald McDonald and his friends trying to get Grimace to sing this song, but he keeps forgetting the words! Does anyone else remember this? Does anyone have it?
Glad I'm not the only one to remember this! He sang "A visit to Mc Donalds makes your make" takes a break for getting it wrong and eats a hamburger and then goes on to sing it right!
You remember it too? I was honestly starting to think that maybe I'd dreamed it up or something! There was even a part with Grimace water skiing and being chased by a shark! I can't believe that no one has posted it!
most of the older the restaurants outside still do, The one in bethnal green in east london for example still look likes that, but in the interior is that modern rubbish
Back then McDonald's was the place to go after work to chill out and see all the pretty girls then order that pipeing hot big cheese hamburger with fries and a diet soda. Then you went home then to bed to get up tomorrow and do it all over again. Back to McDonald's after work hopefully to find that Love you're lonely ass starved for, McDonald's, pretty girls and hamburgers all the right ingredients for possible romance 💒.... That's what I thought at the time 🤣
