So for example this stupid thing with seal team 6 taking anyone out is just stupid. Cant deprive any citizen of life, liberty or happiness without due process. The seal commander and admiral of the navy would refuse as they took an oath to defend constitution against all enemies f & domestic.

Yes it will stop political parties from criminally prosecuting the president because of partisanship. What worries me, is that it gives the president more power to act on rivals of their own. We can remove Trump and Biden from the equation just to broaden our perspective. It's hypothetical, but it's important because supreme court rulings set precedent for hypothetical situations in the future. Humor me. Let's say eight years from now someone with malicious intent takes office. They serve their full term and come up for re-election. Worried about defeat they accuse a political opponent of crimes. Maybe even claim they are plotting to subvert democracy through some sort of coup. The president asks his self appointed head of the DOJ to investigate his claims. Wouldn't you know it, the DOJ confirms those claims. The presidents rival is then arrested for conspiracy. We know this is false. We know this is wrong. News of the true reasons of the investigation and subsequent arrest may come out some time after the election. Even then though, how do you prove it. The president asked the DOJ to investigate and based off of their findings THEY decided to arrest that individual. Wouldn't the president have then operated in official capacity? Even if you could prove it was for personal gain, the president still used official channels and he did not personally order the arrest. He won election, served his second term and is now out of office. Is he immune? If so, is that the kind of country we want to live in?

Unfortunately it is easy and common for prosecutors to rename peaceful protests as crimes. For example: We were convicted of disorderly conduct for reading our Redress of Grievences to the judge before she put court in session. Many, many people have been convicted of Trespassing in "public" spaces. (You would be shocked to discover how many government spaces are rented or worse, sold--then rented)
