Here you are the new McLaren MP4-12C modified in order to race in the Fia GT3 Championship. The twin turbo V8 engine of the MP4 GT3 produces less power, compared to the road legal car (490 bhp instead of 592 bhp), due to homologation. In the video you can hear the very nice sound of this car with a loud start up, fast fly bys on the track, full throttle accelerations, downshifts with huge flames (1:29; 1:56 - 1:58; 2:59) and more.

I think the sound is alright, it doesn't sound bad, but there are definitely more aggressive sounding cars in the GT3 pack :)

Because this doesn't have the same starting system onboard as a normal road car. It's a racing car :) They tick the engine over, check oil and fuel temperatures, pressure etc. When they're happy with the values, they can start the engine.

Still think these early MP4-12C GT3s are the best sounding of all the modern McLaren race cars. Dirty V8 noise with that weird vibration at low rpm, brutal gearshift and flames. What's not to like?
