Good video. The only thing I would advise when training elevators is that crews remember that the elevator is locked onto that floor unless you take it out of phase two (automatic recall to the lobby) or you leave your key and send it to the lobby (not a good idea). Once crews make the resource floor take it out of phase two so that the other responding units have a way to get up to the fire.
Knox Box. So THAT'S what those are! I've seen them on the sides of buildings for years but had no idea what they were for! I thought they were used to control outdoor lighting or... something.
Very instructional. I like hanging out and drinking beers in a clean, safe, and quiet environment so sometimes I pick the panels open and can pick any of the switches. this is Really gonna help me understand how to take over an el and keep it and me in a closed room to party and chill out in= thanks. It might sound strange, but trust me, try partying and chilling in an El an you will see how cool it is.
I would like to add one detail to the last step. Building fire panel needs to be in normal operation otherwise elevator will not reset to normal operation and stay in fire recall!
Door close does work on some models such as Montgomery, some Dover and older Westinghouse. Others such as Schindler and newer Otis has a set door timer that the doors must stay open for a certain amount of time.
ClumsyGamer But if it's too high, he would be using most of his energy for the stairs instead of fighting the fire. Also they do this very quickly, this is just for demonstration
Totally incorrect. You need to cut a hole in the floor of the elevator with a K12, put a 2 1/2" hose through it, and go to whatever floor the fire is on. That my friends is called "quick attack"
😤🥺😥😭🤣🤣HOLY THAT'S A LOT OF WORK...TURN THE KEY TO...THEN ACTIVATE ABRA CADABRA, TIC TAC TOE,RED LIGHT GREEN, 123, ABC, MOTHER MAY I, THEN ACTIVATE PHASE ll...🤣🤣👌👏
Lots of regulations, expensive stuff; avoid...; my brother's business went under,in part due to very expensive elevator breakdowns; like Bill Clinton once said if too much safety regulation makes a ladder too expensive, more accidents will happen, for people will not buy the ladder and improvise, chair on top of table, hanking on to ropes, climbing walls etc etc but the regulators don't give 2 shits, they,...well, they regulate.
