I'm glad to hear the blue one is slightly thicker: I had the exact opposite problem with the red. Even with the ranger bands on the rhino, it would fall out whenever the sheath was angled downward (but the retention for the black D2 was perfect.) I've been using a single layer of goon tape around the blade of the red which gives it just enough thickness for retention, but I'll probably pick up a blue to use with the bands off and try to convert the red into something partner-friendly like the more heavily-padded version you've got to the far right of the screen.
Sorry to hear the trainers are not more uniform in their dimensions. We have tried out best to keep the manufacturers to a high standard. Working with aluminum seems to be hard to keep the same across the board too. And with something like this, a small change will make the trainer too thick or too thin for the sheath. Its frustrating to say the least. We are going to be releasing the "how to" on the padded trainer I have on the desk soon. Currently its available for those subscribed to our EliteYou.com platform or for those that have purchased our virtual training course at vimeo.com/ondemand/mdvplusone Look for the RU-vid video here within the next two weeks. Thank you again for watching and the comments!! MDv
I just ordered the damascus model several days ago. I am excited. I currently carry a carbon fiber ZT flip knife so this will be an addition to that. Thank you from NC!
Just ordered the Damascus one. Wish I could get some one on one training. I believe this guy definitely knows what he's doing. Wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of one of his knives with him wielding it. Great video.
Absolutely. the hook itself can be used as a tool for manipulation or an eye gouge. the pummel or bottom can be used to strike with and if you have the skill to hit with a ridge hand, the metal will only enhance the strike. Thanks for the question.
We have a number of people who like to use paracord to wrap the MDv Fixed Blade. It works really well. The handle is bare to allow you to customize the grip however you feel is best for your comfortability and use requirements. I am not sure what videos you have seen on the blade but this one focuses on using grappling tape as an option: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NxGo9ibaWcs.html Its how I personally wrap them. I was never good at paracord wrapping and felt this process would be easier to pass on. Also, there are multiple videos on how to wrap a knife with paracord. Didn't see any using the method I chose. -MDv
Yes. The sheaths work with the trainers. They are rounded edged but the profile is the same. They are thin and can still puncture if you’re not careful during training. It’s one of the complaints we’ve had in the past. I apologize for the delay on this. The business app forces me to search for replies manually.
@@EliteYouChannel Mike i would love to see videos of using the MDV+1 on some one wearing different clothes, like a heavy carhart type jacket to clothing that may move the blade from hitting the intended target.
The regular version is sold out. They tend to do that. Skallywag Tactical sells them. They have a number of “blems” available. Read the reviews. It rare to get one where you can tell why it’s a blem. They are discounted of course. You can get one at this link: www.skallywagtactical.com/collections/blades/products/blemished-blades?variant=43775457427671 Thanks for watching. Hope this helps. -MDv
