So some genius in charge gave them a name that literally comes from the Latin word for the dead, and didn't think it would influence their actions at all. It's like Scar in the Lion King. You call your kid "Trash", you can't get upset when that kid ends up being the bad guy. You call your faction "the dead", you can't get upset when they go evil and use dead powers. You call your group "Decepticons", you can't be mad when people assume you might be the bad guys.

Whenever I get a haircut and I'm not heading home immediately I always opt for a shampoo. Feels nice not having all the tiny hair cuttings randomly appear on your face and shoulders as the day goes on.

This year is not my year at all. I started it on the 31th of the previous year. I got sick with a hard case of flu. It was so bad I felt I had a really bad temperature but it was just the flu. A while later because of it I got herpes on my inner part of the lip that I haven't gotten in years. It was worse than ever because I didn't get one cold sore but two next to each other. In a place where the tube of aciclovir cream said I can't put the cream. And the patches wouldn't stick because of my saliva. Then I got my blood work and not only is it terrible but the doctor managed to stab my nerve with the needle and I can barely extend my working arm, my left arm. And my blood work being awful means I have to take four supplements. Luckily two are tablets. One is a multivitamin of vitamin B and the other I took before which is folate or folic acid. And the third is vitamin D3 drops that are made of vitamin D3 and pure olive oil that I put on a cookie that taste like nothing. I used to take them before. But the fourth is iron seltzer tablets. And as you might guess they taste like licking some tarnished metal that's been sitting outside. At first I got a faint lemon scent as it was sizzling. But no it tastes like metal. And I've also chosen to eat a specific type of raw meat that doesn't help the flavor go away and makes it taste awful. I've got a gag reflex going at least three times. My autism is going insane over it. Why don't they make pills of everything?

2024 is going to be Jack's year.

Last year I had a memory post pop up on my Facebook from May 2020 where I posted a very long emotional venting post about how I couldn't take it anymore. I had lost three friends and two coworkers, but because I was an essential worker at a convenient store I didn't have a chance to process any of it and one day I kind of just broke and had to be talked out of ending it all. My general rule of thumb for haircuts/styles is that if you can't find a cut that works for you, you need to grow your hair out longer. It is going to touch your shoulders and it will be maddening for a while but now there is more real estate to work with.

I understand about the new phone one. Except I have my father. Who is technologically inept. I am also loaned out by my parents to fix their friend's computers. One elderly women - over 400 malware and viruses on her computer. 400!! She believed every email and pop up add she saw and clicked on everything. I saved that computer. But I think a part of my soul died that day. It took me 3 HOURS to resurrect that poor laptop. Holy crap.

The thing is we are _part_ of the universe. We're still making the decisions, even if we were always going to make those decisions. If we really had no say in things, then you could remove us from the equation entirely and things would still proceed the same. But that's not how things work. Your (non self-driving) car will not make an illegal U-turn to save 5 minutes if you or someone else is not behind the wheel to make that decision.
