I had an 'aha!' moment in this video when you said you wear boring clothes because your day doesn't feel worth messing up your nice clothes - 'better clothes that I should be wearing'!

Thanks for sharing! I think you are on the right track when you are evaluating how you dress at home! I’m convinced that your clothes and the way you take care of yourself have a great impact on how we feel. I have always loved clothes and to dress in a thoughtful way that I feel good in, but at home I could definatly slouch around in some less fancy stuff. But four years ago I retired and suddenly I had no ”reason” to dress up… which of course didn’t make me feel good. So I decided to continue to dress in a thoughtful, colourful, fun way, a happy way but still comfortable for my new life! And I’ve sewn lots of garment that fit me right now. Good luck in finding a happy way of dressing! ❤️
I think after 2 months of sewing challenges I’m going to sit this one out lol but I’m excited to see what everyone else’s ideas are! I love that you are planning on lots of mending/alterations and has me thinking about my pile 🫣
I always prefer cutting dresses to shirts if they aren’t working, because jeans and shirts is actually kind of dressed up for me. I almost never wear dresses as they require shorts a make me feel like maybe I should bother shaving. Really most of the time is around the house in cozy lounge wear, with jeans as the going out clothes. (Hard pants.) Once in a blue moon I have a dress or slacks event. I’d embrace the jeans and shirt vibe, but maybe your life is more formal than mine. I bet you will get a lot of good wardrobe pieces out of that mending pile. ;)
Great video Brianna! It’s always so interesting to hear about how in depth folk are going and what they are doing in order to reflect on their me made wardrobes. I’m trying not to be too hard on myself but like you have a good few ideas what I want to do! Definitely don't go too hard on yourself! I'm feeling really energized this year, but that's not always the case. We all have different bandwidths at different times and should just prioritise what brings joy and energy.
