"Meadowlands" - Eurorack Modular Ambient - [Ft Nebulae, Marbles, Chord V2, Plaits, Rings & Pluck]

My latest humble offering is 10 minutes of blissful ambience; A slowly evolving piece that transforms throughout so do please listen to the track in its entirety in order to fully appreciate it. Also, listening to it through good quality speakers or headphones will greatly enhance the aural experience.
During this surreal period of lockdown, I have endeavoured to make full use of the “exercise hour” each day and have been venturing widely through the ancient meadows and woodlands just a short distance from my home. Despite living in our current home for some 20 years now, I never fully explored my local countryside and it seems somewhat ironic that it should take a awful event such as this, to fully open my eyes to the natural splendour on my own doorstep. This was the inspiration for the track and it is merely intended as simple homage to nature, so much of which, it seems, we all take for granted.

The Qu-bit Nebulae forms the heart of this track providing a simple lo-fi chord “wash” played in reverse and at half speed. Nebulae also provides the master clock for Marbles via a clock multiplier. Marbles in turn generates the simple melodies feeding both Rings, Pluck and the Chord V2. The “Odd” output of Rings goes into the Lo-Fi Junky and then into the mix; the “Even” output goes via a 4MS DLD into the mix. Pluck goes via the Qu-Bit Prism for both filtering and delay and then into the mix; the Chord V2 has all four ouputs routed via a Qu-Bit Tone 4 x LP filter module into the mix. An Ornament & Crime in quadrature LFO mode randomly modulates the filter cut-offs on the Tones 4 x filters to add additional movement and interest to the sound. Marbles also feeds a clock to a Brains/Pressure point combo which controls the bass lines from Plaits. Plaits sound is shaped by Maths feeding and envelope into its Level input. Seperate clocks from a Noise Engineering Horologic Solem clock and clock division module control the reverse and hold functions on the 4MS dual looping delay. The final mix is then routed into the Strymon Big Sky reverb.
