Good Question ! We have stopped main line oil pump and cooled down for a while before entering crankcase and take measurement. Can assume crankshaft isn’t afloat due to lube oil pressure.

How the guide shoe will rest against the crosshead guide when the crankpin position is 45 degree after BDC, turning in astern direction ?

@@najinkunnath6009 45' after TDC. (Not BDC.) Depends upon maker and model, crank angle may differ. In this engine, maker said guide shoes rest on guide @ 45 degrees after TDC. Thanks.
