I know this is an older video, but it is so relevant to me today! I needed this! I feel really good about weighing, and find it causes me zero food chatter... Except for prepacked veggie burgers and the like. Then, adding a pinch of patty caused me problems.I feel like it was a missing element to help me keep on strong. Thank you!!

“You’re head is a bad neighborhood, don’t go in there alone.” Priceless! This all sounds so sensible, and sounds like it brings you peace. Outstanding! Thank you.

I think that at the start you should weigh your food for a long time but later on this method really works. I got to goal weight losing 40 kg and have kept it off for two years so far and now I don't weigh most of my food anymore. After hitting my goal weight and moving to Japan where I basically have no kitchen in my apartment and very little time to cook I stopped weighing my food for the most part. Instead of weighing, I just usually always eat the same amounts of the same foods as they are packaged and monitor my weight and adjust based on that. For example I buy packets of frozen blueberries and tubs of prebiotic greek yoghurt and every morning for breakfast my breakfast will have one of those entire packets of blueberries and one of those entire tubs of greek yoghurt and I dont need to weigh them because the amount in the packages is already pre-weighed and consistent so I'm eating the same amount every morning and I monitor my weight and it isn't changing. I use this method for almost everything that I eat on a regular basis.

Another excellent weekly vlog! This idea makes BLE even more appealing to those who may have found it difficult. Bright Line Eating is a wonderful program and I love that you are open to making changes to continuously grow and make it easier for everyone to enjoy and benefit from. Thank you

Because I do not trust myself yet (3 months), I weigh everything! I even weigh all of my fruit so that I don't have to think about it all day. I may be wrong according to the plan but it is less mental angst to peel and weigh all fruit. Fruit comes in so many sizes! Even Cuties in January are tiny so about 4-5 is 6oz but by April, they are bigger, so 2-3 is 6oz. Do not get me started on the mental gymnastics of bananas! Since weighing my food, I weigh and mentally let go with full trust. When I am in my right size body, maybe, but for now it feels like a gateway to blurry lines; for me.

Same here, totally. Pre-weighed and packaged string cheese that's definitely one ounce is one thing... a peach the size of my palm vs. a peach the size of my face is a different thing entirely, and my Saboteur would have a field day (and I allowed it... once). The "one piece rule" doesn't work for me, and I'm thankful I know myself well enough to admit it. :)

It seems like for a lot of these products, you are using the weight on the package instead of weighing them yourself. So you are going by weight not just measure. This seems to make common sense to me! And its so much simpler! Good breakthrough!

Hmm, I still weigh all my fruit for the most part. I will even take a bit from another banana if one isn’t 6 oz. Most bananas are more like 3 1/2-4oz I find. I hope this is still okay, because it seems like I’d be eating more fruit than others who are just taking a piece of fruit. And I know fruit is high in natural sugars...I guess that’s why I’m curious. Will source the book on this since I have not taken the boot camp.

Im glad you talked about the berries. When I weigh them, I get almost 2 -6 oz servings from one package that says 6 oz???

6 oz volume isn't the same as 6 oz of weight. Most foods are measure in volume, not weight, by the suppliers.

Teresa Gosser sorry for the dumb question so In Kari’s example are you saying she’d then still weigh only 6oz out since she’s getting 2 servings from a 6oz package? Meaning she’s eat the package on two days vs one?

I have been wanting to try BLE but I still don't understand how a female at my height of 5 feet and a female 6 feet tall is supposed to eat the same weight of food in a day on BLE. Someone please explain.

Hi, Zen B! At this time, the weight loss food plan varies by gender-men get more protein than women. There is ample opportunity to add denser foods and variety to the food plan should you decide that’s what you need. Other than that, it’s the same no matter the person’s age, size, or activity level. This is completely fine. It’s a plan that results in fairly rapid weight loss for everyone. But, of course, people’s basal metabolic rates do differ, so some people shed pounds even more quickly on the weight loss food plan than others. The Bright Line Eating food plan becomes individually tailored when goal weight is reached. To incorporate a maintenance food plan, more food is added gradually until weight loss comes to a halt and a slender body size is maintained. People with faster metabolisms will end up adding much more food to achieve this balance point, so different individuals end up with different (sometimes dramatically different) maintenance food plans. It’s also worth noting that, even for the same person, the maintenance food plan will need to be adjusted from time to time, as the body’s metabolism speeds up or slows down based on activity levels, increasing age, seasons, hormonal changes, and many other factors. 🧡

I'm tall but I still have to eat a very small amount of food daily to lose weight. I have friends who are much shorter than me who burn a higher daily calorie count, so height isn't a factor imo.

There's no reason to measure if weighing would give you more peace. I weigh everything. The one time I used the "one piece rule" for fruit, I had a peach the size of my face. Not worth it.

Charlotte Ervin check out plant based calcium sources. There’s calcium in a bunch of other sources without consuming dairy. Also, maybe look more into dairy and whether it’s a healthy source of calcium or not 👍🏼💕

Cow’s milk actually leaches calcium from human bones. There are plenty of plant-based milks available now. Not that you need them for calcium, focus on greens for calcium-this is the biological design for humans. Good luck!
