So in conclusion if you're having saturated fat (from meats, dairy and tropical oils) eat your fruits and veggies (especially veggies since they seem to have more of the beneficial substances) to cancel out the health risks of a certain ammount of saturated fat. Well that's nice to hear that saturated fat isn't as absolutely devistating as some people make it out to be.

As usual great educational and objective content! Big thanks Layne! Through my own training I have stumbled upon a question that is so ridiculously surrounded by garbage info it's insane; stubborn fat deposits. I was wondering whether it makes "sense" to diet down quite lean to get rid of it, and "start fresh" with new deposits, with a more even distribution of fat. Could you make a video on the (potential) science behind stubborn fat? There is so much noise online, and it would be super interesting!

My doctor diagnosed me with post concussion syndrome. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to do a video on how long I should take a break from lifting and how exactly I should get back into lifting. Also, I've been using my sensory deprivation tank a ton during this time and it seems to be improving my symptoms. I was wondering if you've ever looked into the science of sensory deprivation tanks. It's a pretty cool study, though I did notice there's definitely some faults with the self-reporting of BMI and food intake. Somehow despite >75% of male participants being overweight or obese, average calorie intake is only about 2200. It's even more apparent in the female participants - ~50% overweight/obese despite an average intake of about 1600kcal. AND they're doing 15-20 outs of mod/vigorous physical activity per week. Sure the data could be skewed by a few outliers but... that doesn't quite add up. Got to love self-reporting!

What was the definition of processed meat in this study? Do we actually get unprocessed meat at a regular grocery? Where exactly is the line of too processed? Is there a specific type of processing that is bad? Is cooking not a form of processing? I'm not trying to just muddy the water here. I'm genuinely curious. But I'm not sure a vague definition like processed is very useful. There's got to be some types of processing that is bad. Most people don't eat raw meat. So what kind of processing are we to avoid?

so the study didn't show any connection between meat and cancer but processed food which doesn't matter if it's plant or meat. it causes cancer due to chemicals they use. the group who ate processed food and plants at the same time showed a lower rate of cancer. it doesn't mean plants mitigate it. it just means they eat less of the cancer-promoting food which is the processed food hence the lower rate of cancer

Plants have fiber, the liver is a clever organ and it has been discovered that it releases alot of the crap that animals give us though the fiber. 2. plants have phytochemicals. Hope that helps.

@@Glenburrows you see the problem I have is there are many people that can live purely on a plant based diet and have no issues at all and some can't, what I'm starting to suspect is that alot of carnivore community people have gut microbiome issues or have epigenetic issues because our ancestors had shortages. Ps processed soy and grains are shite for your health anyway. I hope people will understand that whole foods are the antidote to most of the health crisis we have today. That and not living in a calorie surplus. Great day man.

@@pietermeyer9740 yea, agreed, I'm convinced that gut microbiome and leaky gut are the reasons for this and this is why an all meat diet can be very healing for compromised people, I also agree with you completely that a constant calorie surplus is the reason for many health problems, the difference is that when I was plant based I needed to eat every 4 hours at least as I was not metabolically flexible, when I introduced more fatty animal products into my diet I often had to remind myself to eat, I could easily go 8 hours between meals.
