i still fail to understand why they never brought him back. Was he asking for too much cash? Was he not interested? It just seems like such an obvious oversight and waste NOT to have this legendary music maker come back.
@@robosoldier11 I looked it up and it seems the reason he left is because he lives in a different time zone from CA and time of day difference was too much for him to both work with CA and have a healthy sleeping schedule. I saw this awhile ago so I could be misremembering it a little.
I once invaded the Aztec empire as the Teutonic Order with 8 full stacks of high level troops. I though to myself, " this will be a cakewalk, they have neither armor nor cavalry". When I landed I lost 2 stacks to a force much smaller than my own. I then had 5 of my stacks fort up all right next to and supporting each other, as I was becoming surrounded by much larger Aztec forces that were approaching. 1 stack didn't make it to the forts in time and was forced run around and hide in the jungle until reinforcements arrived. And that's how one of the longest and bloodiest conquests I've ever played in total war began, don't underestimate people in loincloths, you'll be sorry lol.
"It's going to be easy, they said. A land of glory and riches, and adventure just awaiting for you, they said" Or the classical "bUt ThE AztEcS wERe BaCkWaRds An' StUff. tHeY dIDn'T eVEn hAvE sTeEl, aN' eUrOpEaNs MopPeD tHe FloOr wItH tHeIr AdVaNcEd wEaPoNrY, tAcTiCs An' pOWdEr!!!" (drolling)
@DANIEL BIN OMAR - yeah, good luck firing a weapon that doesn't have aim abs doesn't allow you to see the trajectory - basically shoot in a general direction and pray for It to hit somewhere, which makes lower the chance of hitting If you are more afar -, that presents constant frabrication issues and detects and that takes forever to load after only ONE shot, leaving you, ranwhile vulnerable to enemy charge. No sir. Firearms were only majorly effective and only provided 100% autonomy to it's bearer around WWI or the American Civil War.
@DANIEL BIN OMAR - oh yes, very smart to wait a swarthy aztec get at melee reach, enough to pummel you with a mace, and just then try your luck and shoot him
@fiscornioman Not only scary, but quite difficult too. Cortez himself said is was more easy to charge a group of European artillery than fight a horde of native americans (the Aztec alone probably had some 150.000 wariors. Imagine when natives combined forces; that would be terrifying).
Ahh, this brings back memories. Sent a full stack of heavily armored knights, both mounted and dismounted, gunners, cannons, and all this under a full Dread general who rivaled the cruelty of Satan himself. The Natives were never the same after that experience(those that remained) xD

Put yourself in one of the Spanish soilder's shoes, you are lead to a unknown terrain, you never seen jungle before. And you never seen this much people.in a army (about 150.000) Now imagine all of these natives charging at you yelling and screaming.Plus their obsidian blades cut insanely good. Also, you probably heard their sacrifice methods.
I think they were equally scared, seeing that those rumoured ghost skinned people with hair on their face, that wear shiny armours harder than rock, ride strange four-legged creatures and that have literal thunder-sticks really exist must've been one hell of an experience
There were a few instances during the Siege of Technotitlan where the Aztecs would sacrifice Spanish captives knowing full well that the Spanish could see the Great Temple from their barricades. Brought the Spaniards to tears
@@idkwmytuni Funny how smallpox didn't decimate the Aztecs nor the Native allies of the Spanish. The virus is overrated, just like today. Vaccines are scams.
@shalis16 interestingly, Cortez had Tlaxcalan allies as well as others, which was a huge factor in his success. Without them he would have been picked to pieces, but he was clearly a charismatic leader, and impressed the Tlaxcala. Would have been quite a sight to see an Aztec army in person... the closest i can think of might be Fuedal Japan, in terms of similar uniforms (particularly the banners mounted to their backs)
Still relevant piece of music 16 years later. I now listen to this on Vanilla Beyond mod fighting the Aztecs that are tougher than ever. Luckily horses on open plains and well placed archers in siege defense battles are their end.
I can only imagine the amount of pure testosterone emanating from a group of 20 to hundreds of people participating in the final drum segment. I can just see it a night before battle and you got a group of warriors getting each other worked up ready for the next days triumph to come. Truly glorious.
imagine going back in time and talking to some high emperor or wtv on how you conquered cities etc with your faction hahahahaa you have all the details, how u entered, how u divide and conquer xD how you destribute ur army xD
(spanish conquistador) "ok ok, i can do this, they are just people. . . attack!!!" *sounds of fighting* "ok this isnt so bad, i think i can OHHHH GOOOODDD THEY ARE THROWING BEES AT US!!!!"
@@FluffyDonPedro heck, didn't know about that. Is that historially accurate? Only heard of the beehive/snake/scorpions catapult in a DLC for Roman and Greek factions in Rome II
@tankermottind The fanaticism and ferocity worked to their side on the mental battle field, but when coming to things like bayonet charges, it got them killed quick. .30 cal taught them that those don't work anymore.
It mustve been insane, i know victors write the history books but still, I find hard to believe the battle numbers reported by the spanish.... 20K Aztecs and allies VS 8K Spaniards and Tlaxcallans with thousands of aztec deaths and just 60 spanish soldiers dead...
@@edas1315 If you ever played Age of Empires, compare an Imperial Age elite group fighting a Dark Age huge mass. It's easy for the more advanced civilizaiton to wipe them out, but the Spanish needed Natives to not be overwhelmed by the numbers of Aztecs. And the victors aren't the only ones who write history books Japan lost WW2. They write their own history books.
@@scintillam_dei I agree, and ive played Age of Empires, all of them, being the first two the top masterpieces imo... But returning to the subject, yes the Spanish had advanced military tech compared to the aztec weaponry, that doesnt mean the Aztecs were militarily mediocre, they had an extremely organized army with different ranks and batallions, platoons and legions, not to mention that their Eagle and Jaguar warriors were legendary and renowned for their bravery and epicness.
@@edas1315 Since you're a fan of the first and second in the series, you might like my maps for them, like the ancient Mediterranean map for the original Wololo game. ALthough the maps aren't as realistic as possible, I've seen alternatives, and I can assure you mine are probably more realistic. I did a map of América of the ludicrous size (4X bigger than "gigantic") so that I could, primarily, see the Aztec Empire fight the Incan in the proper context. But the computer likes to send halberdiers instead of actual Incan units. SIGH I tried to disable the non-Native technologies or units, but it didn't work. Eh.
@@scintillam_dei Yep, first AoE could be completely perfect if such Bugs and Ai nonsense would be fixed... I would love to try your Maps, are they Definitive Edition compatible?
In north africa? How about you live in northern italy, south of the alps... never seen an elephant in your whole life and there comes a huge carthaginian army out of nowhere with "monstrous horses"
@fiscornioman Yeah man, that culture clash was something crazy. The descriptions Aztecs and Mayans had of us were bizarre. I still can't believe I didn't know the New World didn't have horses before Europeans...
i rank the tw series like this 1-medevil 2 2- shogun 2 3 rome 1 4 warhammer total war 5 shogun 1 6 medevil 1 7 napoleon total war 8 empire total war 9 atilla 10 rome 2
Total War: Attila is great game. Example you can win city fights as defender with smaller army, with good tactics. (In Total War: Warhammer city fights are way more simpler.) In Attila you can have even ship battle and city battle in same fight. Attila is gem that people did not really get, because it was so hard to many. Yes Attila/Huns are OP when computer plays them, and? You just need me smarter/better than Attila/Huns...
@fiscornioman back then there was more of a "warrior spirit" in people. We have that today in many people, but, truth be told, our sheltered society does not inspire the spirit in most people. Most people today want to live life to their definition of "fullest" and that is living life the easy way.
Yeah because after the industrial revolution children stopped having to go to work so early and had much more time to themselves and therefore people started caring whether they lived or died and weren't violent psychopaths any more. Those are still around today you just don't see them plainly.
I once had to defend against 2 full stacks of Tlaxalacans as the spanish. Luckily my settlement had a big ass ramp so i was able to position a cannon on top, a fuckoff massive swarm of warriors rushed through the gates, my men desperately trying to defend it, it was legitimately terrifying because i was getting pushed back from the walls and there were animal priest guys just chanting on top of it. Luckily the enemy also charged in their general, so a well placed lucky shot from my funny cannon absolutely murdered him, allowing us the chance to get the enemy to break with guns, more cannon fire, and balls harder than our cuirasses.
@Maldius No, not at all. The Japanese were armed and equipped just like the other major combatants of WWII and used mostly Western tactics. They also aren't any more native to jungles than Westerners are--Japan's climate is generally warm and muggy with cold winters, more like the southeast US than a jungle. The scary thing about the Imperial Japanese military was its unyielding fanaticism and ferocity.
@fiscornioman It's not as scary as you may think if people from all over the world have been pioneering for centuries. People have climbed the tallest mountains, landed on the moon, dominated others for centuries, etc, throughout history. If they all were scared, half of those achievements wouldn't be possible. If Europeans were scared of the jungles, they wouldn't have went there.
Well yeah, but if you're willing to go back to the Land Bridge era you might as well say that all races are related. At this point in time, the Aztecs and other Native Americans were already well within their own unique blood.
I feel like part of this music sounds like someone trying to do a Maori Haka but failing hilariously and miserably at the same time. The other part sounds like Kevin Hart doing a war cry.
Japanese is Asian and Aztec is Asian so the Aztec are realted to the Japanese Via theLand Bridge crossing a million years ao hae they share the same Hair Genitics but Japan is a western country now.
