I have an 18 month old granddaughter. She's enthralled by the all the instruments in my room, but I've yet to get her to say "lute". Maybe in time.....
@@Republic_Of_Vicoria_Official Of course. I've been building old instruments since 1963 and there's nowhere she can go around the house without bumping into lutes, citterns, rebecs, viols, etc. To her, they're normal. It won't be till she grows up that she realises that Granddad was an eccentric. ☺
@@EnsembleLeones, the first time I clicked on the link I got a warning about malware. I've tried again and it wants me to download an exe file. Is that right? I don't want to proceed if the site has been hijacked.
@@IPMusic I have just checked and am surprised about the link that shows up. Maybe it was changed by something/someone? I have replaced it with the correct link. Thanks for checking this out and giving us a warning. Here it is again, just to be sure: ora.ox.ac.uk/objects/uuid:2a11c52f-52e5-4702-bab6-574d86f1f8bc/
Great piece! Question where do you get your strings from? I recently came into posession of a replica medieval 4 course lute and havnt found a place for strings.
Peppe, I use a risha for medieval plectrum playing, as I just can't make cut quills work without them disintegrating. I'd really value any advice on how you prepare quills, quill types, etc.
Hi! I use either oud rishas cut in half or pieces of strings, usually the third course of the lute. Never been a big fan of quills either but there are great players getting very good results with them as well.
