Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) and Evelyn (Rachel Weisz) are attacked by The Medjai, an ancient group set on preventing the mummy of Imhotep ever awakening.
The Mummy (1999) Adventurer Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) and Egyptologist Evelyn (Rachel Weisz), along with a bunch of archaeologists, inadvertently wake up an evil mummy during an archaeological excavation at the ancient city of Hamunaptra.

We are used to seeing gun logic used more often - especially in John Wick movies that we easily notice how many heroes in action movies don't reload their weapons as much as they should. Nevertheless, movies like The Mummy are classic and still fun :)

If you count his shots sparingly (counting one or two as both the muzzle flash then the hit after the cut) he only fired 10 shots so with two revolvers he actually had the rounds

He did reload a few times in the movie, he just happens to have so many guns that he pulls a reaper from Overwatch and elects to use new guns instead when he can, plus this scene has one of the best reloading moments ever when Evie moves him out of the way of incoming fire

He had the epic double shot mod. It allows one to fire two bullets per shot. He had to grind quite a lot to get it.

@@lonewolfgaming3625 Maybe not, as I understand there's a bug where if you start loading and then enter a door on the sixth round, you'll automatically restart the loading animation from the beginning once you spawn inside the room, effectively giving you a "double load". I thought they patched it out, but maybe they're playing on an earlier version.

Watching the movie now, I feel a little sorry for the Medjai in this scene, especially the hook man. Even though he threatened Evie, he was doing everything in his power to prevent a terrible evil from being unleashed to the point where not even being roasted alive stopped him from doing his job. Also, remember some of those men were likely Ardeth Bay's friends and brothers, which makes it even sadder.

@proantagonist5042 they didn't have time for that. Their aboard a ship were mostly everyone was going to the city of the dead. They weren't interested in talking. They had a job to do.

Ironically, they were the heroes in this action scene. Their actions, while violent, were justified given the threat. And I doubt they had the patience to deal with greedy treasure hunters. Oddly, an argument can be made that the Mummy (1999) has an anti-colonial theme. Our heroes exploit a culture for wealth and prestige with no regard for the people or culture and are essentially committing grave robbery, and suffer because of their own hubris.

As surprising as it may sounds, he shot 18 times in the first firefight, and he has two LeMat revolvers, which have cylinders of 9 bullets each (and a shotgun round in the second barrel), so technically, he reloads correctly.

At one of my birthdays, my brother thought it was a funny idea to smash the cake in my face. Except he did it immediately after I blew out the candle, while the wax was still hot. He came within a mm of blinding me and I always remember that moment every time I see this scene.
