MEET MY NEW GUINEA PIG 🐽|VLOG| 

Warning⚠️ please make sure you inform your viewers about the IVERMECTIN PASTE and how much to give the guinea pigs. Less than a pea size amount is sufficient. Unfortunately, we had an incident with one of our first guinea pigs and gave him too much. He passed away from ivermectin toxicity a few days later. We were sooooo devastated. I just don’t want anyone to have to go through that pain. 😢🥺 Kevin seems so wonderful! I’m so proud of your videos! You’re doing amazing!!! 🥰🥰

Mr Kevin hit the animal lottery when he got to come home with you. A great enclosure, lots of yummy food and snacks and plenty of toys and hidey spots. The love and devotion you have for your animals is amazing. I think pets are your true happiness.

I just got done bonding my two boys in Nov, and it seems super intimidating at first but is actually not as bad as it seems! I think you’re totally on the right track having them be close by, letting em get used to the new scents and then slowly working towards putting them together if possible. When I bonded my boys, I used a huge pop up playpen to introduce them to one another. Having a neutral space is really good, no existing scents. Huge piles of hay can help as well as they are able to bond over a meal which takes away a lot of stress. And lots of hides too! Hides that have both an entrance and an exit are super helpful so that way piggies don’t get cornered and are able to run away if they are nervous. 3 of everything is good too! Three bottles, bowls, and hides make sure there aren’t any territorial issues. I love your videos and your piggies so I hope this little anecdote about my experience can give you some direction as you move forward 🤍🤍🤍

i know you felt overwhelmed with just three, but i’ve heard having them in even pairs helps! if you’re comfortable, you could get a fourth and introduce the two new ones at the same time. this might prevent bullying within the pack. just a thought. love the cage 🥰❤️

I originally had a bonded pair of males, I introduced another male. They got along well the first few days but the bonded pair that I originally had attacked each other so badly that I cannot even let the pair see each other. Now, one of the piggies from the pair is separated from my other two. So I’m left with a pair of boys and a lonely boy. I have 6 females but they’re of course separated. Anyways, your new piggie is so cute!!! Congratulations!❤️

I loved meeting Kevin. My one year old Buckey has similar coloring. I’ve been working on getting him (and his buddy, Cedric, who is only 4 months old) to be calmer about being handled. It’s working so far! Your video made me even more excited about staying consistent about handling them. Boy, if only we could house train them or put diapers on them, it would be great to hang out with them even more often!

I love Kevin! Such a cutie! From personal experience I wouldn’t advise bonding three boys, it messed up my boy pair, I ended up just getting another boy to be paired with my third boy.

I love that you're taking in another piggie, Kevin is so cute. His personality is amazing omg. The enclosure is beautiful!! Be careful though, as my experience with 3 boys ended up in me having 3 cages with 2 piggies each! They are two bonded brothers and another unrelated piggie aswell. They now all have another piggie friend. I hope it works out for your piggies 😊

Kevin is SO cute i love him already!!! going to be 100% honest bonding males is very very stressful it took 3 hours in a play pen for my 2 before i felt comfortable putting them in the cage together. Saskia at LA guinea pig rescue has great male bonding videos💜 i rescued 2 separate females recently and bonding them was a piece of cake, i hate that males are so much more difficult lol. i rescued another single male a week ago and im in the same position of wondering if i should introduce him to my other males or not 😩 kevin seems chill enough it might work out with yours!! wishing u lots of luck 💕

Seeing all the poop and hay on the floor makes me want to rebuild and deep clean my girls cage, I sweep the front floor and underneath the front a bunch but I can only imagine how many poops they fling behind the coroplast

I have the same wooden hay rack that Kevin's previous owner gave you- I ended up removing the second rod from the bottom and it worked super well. Thanks for the video :)

i have bonded my 3 male guinea pigs like yours. the 2 males i had first and then the one i got from a rescue. i recommend putting mocha and latte on one side and have the grid between them and kevin so they can still see each other. it will make bonding a lot easier since they will have their own space but still be able to see and smell eachother! love your videos!💕😊

Guinea pigs are the best animals and no one can change my mind

Bonding my guinea pigs was super easy. My first guinea pigs were related but when my one guinea pig passed I had to get another one for my other. I basically separated my cage in half and over time they started sniffing each other and trying to get to each other. After about 2 weeks I opened the cage up and they didn’t fight whatsoever. My third guinea pig was the same except I put 2 of my bonded guinea pigs on one side and my third on the other. They all are super bonded and happy with each other. I was super nervous as well as you but when they finally were introduced I was really happy. Bonding guinea pigs seems super hard but most of the time isn’t, there is no need to worry. 💕💕

If you want to know more about introducing Guinea pigs. Look up Little Adventures on RU-vid. They have bonded loads of pigs and have a great success rate with it so I’m sure their videos will be able to help you 😊 From what I know, you need to create a safe space that your current pigs haven’t gotten territorial over and use that space as the bonding space. Make sure they have some hay. Don’t have any hides of toys they can be territorial over and just let them sniff each other out. It can take a while so make sure to make a day of it. And once things calm down put them in the cage together. You don’t want to start and stop the bonding process

hi Alyssa! So I recently had to get a New Guinea for my little guy. His brother passed away due to cancer and I felt so bad he was alone. It wasn’t that hard for me to bond them I just let them see each other through a little gird (similar to yours) and slowly introduced them to each other! I think you’ll do great 💕

You should put Kevin’s wood box with your other two boys since his area is smaller and maybe that would help to get them used to him more !!!!

Kevin is SO cute omg! He seems very gentle & I feel like he might be a bit more submissive than the other 2. If both Kevin & one of the brothers are submissive, they'll have an easier time creating a hierarchy, but if both brothers attempt to dominate Kevin, it's gonna be a lot trickier. I've bonded a couple pairs of boars now through fostering, & I'd suggest after a couple weeks to move the top level & putting it next to the enclosure on the floor instead so they're all on the same level & can interact through the grids. Scents are really important to guinea pigs & fleece really soaks up their smell, so switching their fleece beds with each others' to mingle their scents is usually very effective. I'd also suggest you introduce the brothers to Kevin one at a time first (in a neutral territory of course) & try to gauge their reactions. It's totally ok if they fight a little, as long as it doesn't get bloody. Scotty's Animals' RU-vid channel is def the best resource for learning about boars & how to bond them :)

Oh my, he is adorable! QWQ Such a cute boy! The enclosures also seem awesome, for all three of your boys! It was so wholesome watching you set them up! Props to you, seemed like a lot of work! I'm not sure if you have read more into it or made a try or decision, but from my experience it is very much possible to bond male guinea pigs. However many people do it too quickly and don't give them enough space. My aunt used to always let them meet in a separate room, so there is no territorial fight going on, when they're introduced. Building contact slowly, before putting them into one enclosure is key. Of course at the end of the day there just are some constellations that won't work. But I'd say maybe try eventually if they don't show any aggression through the separated enclosures. Although I can completely understand why you are hesitant, with the experiences of the people, who ended up having the bond of the piggies broken they had before. So honestly, ofc always just do what you're comfortable with!

I use c&c cage too for my gp. My gp cage was 2 × 5 but after i saw ur video i quickly add two more pieces, 3× 5. Now they look more happy roaming around

I think the Shower coutains will let some fluits through. In Germany many people use pond Plastik. I don't know the right English words it's the stuff you put on the ground if you build a pond in you garden. It's strong enough so it doesn't get wholes. And it's very easy to adjust.

The wooden hides with the hay rack is kinda annoying and the can only get the hay from the top and it's small at the bottom. Have 2 a small and a big. They r cute for hides but not hay rack. Just fun fact from my own time with it. Love watching yas! Cute new addition.

I have a herd of 3 male guinea pigs, love them to pieces 🥰🥰

I bonded my 2 males for two days before putting them in a cage together and it went very well because I knew that my first pig was very dominant so I found a younger pig that I knew was submissive. Now I’m pig obsessed and want a 3rd boy but I know how hard it is to have more than two boys together. I keep thinking maybe if I’m able to find another young submissive one in a few months it’ll work? Btw Kevin is adorable love him already!
