"Mike, BATMAN is on line 1, he was looking for a Best Tug for the BATWING, but wants some of your thoughts on a new & improved BATWING first... after seeing a nitro-racing-dynamic undercarriage-HYPER CUB called SCRAPPY...." 🦇😉LOL 💪🤠👍
Due to health issues I increasingly find myself laid up and forced into periods of inactivity. At these times it is sites like yours and Mike Pateys that allow me to maintain my sanity, so this video was truly a daily double for me. Thank you for the work you put in to keep this channel up and running. Know that it is greatly appreciated.
Mike has to be the most inspirational person alive today. Thanks to him I’m going to sell everything, buy a bushplane, and hanger to live, and build planes in. I’m having a hard time trying to figure out where to move to that has the best flying though?
@@CraveLife I’ve only been there once, but I really love Alaska. My nephew is stationed there with the Air Force, and it would be cool to hang out with him.
Mike is a genius madman! In my opinion, he's in the pantheon of aircraft designers. Kelly Johnson, Walter Beech, Clyde Cessna, AL Mooney, Roy LoPresti.. He is better than some of those, he's right at the top. He's a genius, and if the aviation community adopted 20% of what he does, General Aviation would radically change, for the better.
Amazing is not the correct word to describe the Patey family! I have watch everyone of Mike's videos! He inspires me to get off my butt and getting to work on something. I flew many years ago and Mike but the bug back in me to start flying again. I would love to meet him some day . Maybe the word is INCREDIBLE!
I still can’t get over the “shot out of a canon” airboat launches. Step aside Tesla (Ludicrous Mode). Thanks for another (never enough) Mike Patey video!
2:57 That's Mike in a nutshell. You're dead on. It's unbelievable how talented he is. The real-life Tony Stark, lol. Thanks for a different perspective. You definitely didn't disappoint asking all the right questions. This was an excellent video.
A great video and anything with Mike in it is a hit. Thanks for showing another phase of this Mans mind working. What a great engineer in aviation and his life I would imagine. I’m 60 years old and used to fly some but never got my license , now I have a pacemaker/defibrillator and not sure the FAA will let me get one. I’m hoping so, until then I enjoy all the videos I can find. Thank Y’all and May God Bless You All.
This must have been filmed a while back. I'm a bit jealous. I live 30 minutes away but every time I've been down at the airport, Mike's not around. He's my aviation hero. :)
Mike patey I think you are the superman of building these airplanes I love your planes maybe a kitfox in the future but into cars right now you have alot of energy keep it up you are very smart
“How do you stay sane?” Hah, hah, hah. Sane? Mike hasn’t been sane in years, if ever. He’s just one of those special people whose insanity is directed in a few great directions. And he found a great wife who is equally nuts. As he said, he’s happy. You can’t beat that.
I hope he keeps this aircraft in a single piece longer than Draco....I think he relies on the power and prop too much to be safe in the long run. Pilots don't change their habits even after an accident they walk away from. We have short term memories many times. Hope it all works out though...
At first i thought dude was playing ignorant for the purpose of interviewing . Now i must ask why was he compelled to interview about scrappy to begin with ?
@@CraveLife I told myself this morning i was having a few drinks to take the edge off and look ive only dug myself another hole . I regret carelessly commenting at you when i should be critical of myself .
@@CraveLife honestly i was hoping you would find the opportunity to reply . . Im sure it is obvious im not a pilot . I try to follow the technical aspects of All the various engineering and aviation applications. Im most usually lost beyond my ability . The Pateys both Mike and Mark are good about explaining things to the novice . Your interview i considered to be an excellent opportunity to not only learn about aviation in a stress free manner but to view the very human element of this challenging yet extremely rewarding hobby . I very much appreciate the time and effort you invested and rhen was good enough to share . Thank you sir .
