Very nostalgic, but makes me a bit sad, bring me back to then... just sitting on my knees staring up at my box TV, playing games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Streets of Rage, Alien Storm, Golden Axe...
It was way ahead of it's time , very joyful , childish , graphics and colours were dazzling for it's time and still even for now , mega drive and snes , and later PlayStation 1 were the ultimate playing joy and fun .
This game is a 90s classic. It wasn’t as polished as the SNES Turtles in Time but it was unique for the Genesis. The Shredder’s Hideout level with Tatsu made this game a must own.
For all the recycled assets the game has from Turtles In Time, it does have one new asset - the boss Tatsu, who was Shredder's right hand man in the first 2 TMNT live action films of the 90's.

Not to mention you need the right TV and cables and if one of those things don't work then you're screwed so no get lost I hate when people shame anothers for wanting to emulate a 20+ year old game. I don't do it I have my own real genesis and games but if people want to emulate or hack a Sega mega drive mini then let them it's their choice especially how expensive old systems and games are I don't blame them. Why should you care anyway? Emulating a 20+ year old game doesn't hurt anyone, sorry for this fairly long reply I'm tried of seeing people shaming other people for wanting to emulate a 20+ year old game
Next to double dragon and golden axe, teenage mutant ninja turtles was my favourite arcade machine. Never played the megadrive version, but I'll have my chance in two days when it arrives. 😁
Man, Shredder kinda sucks at his job. But on a serious note; a hard mode run without getting hit once is impressive to say the least. Pizza power to you!
April at the end saying the real heroes are shrouded in mystery, and there's a giant, bipedal mutant rat man standing there giving the thumbs up at the camera lol
I honestly prefer this game's soundtrack to Turtles in Time's. The instrumentation and percussion sounds a lot better than the SNES game. This is a fantastic beat em' up for the Sega Genesis.
SNES version has a lot more instruments playing in the music, so it sounds richer due to it. FM Synth had smaller limitations, so it was really limited by what it could do, even on higher end PC's, like the X68000 and PC 98 (some of the best home FM Synth exists on these 2 PC's), or in arcade machines.
Let me be the first to point out the inexplicable Jesus powers of the Turtles, Foot Soldiers and Leatherhead. Also the fact that this game includes Rocksteady (who inexplicably says a line that sounds more like something Leatherhead would say), but not Bebop. And that they (again, not Bebop), Tatsu and their respective clones all clearly had bombs in their bodies. Lastly, the fact that April feigns ignorance as to the heroes' identities while Splinter stands a few feet away from her on national TV. Looking at the ending to both versions of Turtles In Time, you'd think they'd be public knowledge at that point.
I had an SNES so I had Turtles in Time but I always saw Hyperstone Heist at Blockbuster. I was super bummed that I couldn't play a TMNT game. The more you know, right? Haha.
Some criminal has just beamed away the SOL and half of Manhatten - and he (Shredder) actually goads four mutant turtles as if they were his only threat? I would be thinking, considering this is 1992, 10 American supercarriers, 500 jets of the USN, 1000 jets of the USAF, and 1,500,000 men under arms in the various branches of the military, would be MUCH more of a threat...
I always thought rocky or rock steady had an ak or something and shot up all over like a mad man and rocks would fall and he had the shoulder pound attack thing too.

Once i was playing with my brother and at this part I stood next to those pillars and when i jump suddenly my turtle jump to to infinity and beyond, i mean, he jump so hight and he never come back. We didn't know what to do because my bro wasn't able to continue playing and we just restart the game. We tried a lot of times after that and it never happened again. Weird glitch 😬
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one of the most classic side-scrolling action games on the Sega platform. The game is based on the animation story of the 87 version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Because by that point the arcade game was a few years old, and Konami did their best to get as close to the more up to date Turtles in Time without doing Turtles in Time.
