Remember this is a nearly 60 year old man who just survived throat cancer. He sounds amazing considering those facts. Plus the ticket prices are very reasonable considering the full line up including LOG and Trivium.
I agree, cancer and age and still kicking ass, plus he's a great guy. Even giving opportunity to these new guys to play in his band. Anyone who gives Dave shit is just jealous. Plain and simple.
@@Good-Enuff-Garage bro, if Megadeth music sounds better with Dave's voice, amd Megadeth music is the best... Do you really think we are kidding. Take another example, Motörhead.
I have a feeling their sets will get longer as the tour goes on. This feels very much like a trial run to see how Dave can hold up after his health issues. He sounds much better. So good to see
@@aaronhockey8803 with three other bands playing and Lamb of God playing at least an hour an hour and a half is all they will be able to play with arena and city curfew. Unless the show is on NYE it will be done by 11pm.
No, it wont. They used to play for 1.5hrs back in the Late 90s but Dave Mustaine is just a biatch nowadays. GNR are playing for almost three hours...,..They removed Sweating Bullets from the set last night.....fuck that...and added A Tout Le Monde....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF
Got to give Dave credit. Megadeth has cycled members in and out on a pretty consistent basis but the band as a whole had been pretty solid. I’d expected to hear them sound a lot looser at this show but this video shows a tight band firing on al cylinders. People throw shade at Dave but it’s hard for me to do so when he stands up a little taller each time he gets knocked down.
Thanks for holding your arms up and recording this for this old school 50 year old OG metalhead here in So. Cal. I appreciate that you held your phone in the proper aspect. I appreciate that people probably gave you shit and you took it for “not being in the moment”. But they went home, searched the show, found this and watched. I appreciate you.
If Dave can play Mechanix perfectly: they are perfectly fine to tour. That song is so ridiculously tight, intricate, and fast. Hurts my fingers every time I play it myself.
HA! No shit, thats a huge pet peeve of mine, cant tell you how many videos I have seen where the cameraman, even professional ones, totally miss the solos!
Aside from Tornado of Souls, where we clearly get The Ginger Genius going through rhythmic motions whilst Kiko nails the second part of his solo.... 😂😂😂😂😂
Dirk is a beast, Kiko is legendary, Mustaine sounds firm and strong still, and Lomenzo wraps everything nicely. Gotta say I'm really happy to see this, hope in the next years I can watch them live!
at points he sounds better than in the last 10 years, but at times he sounds really fucking tired. Either age is catching up, or he just needs to get used to touring again after not doing so for 3 years
@@kratos6211 true, but it wasn't too many dates tbh. iirc the rest of the dates were cancelled. And you could hear him sounding pretty weak at points too.
@@Nestorglass It sounds better than what it sounded in 2015, but he still doesnt sing calmly, it seems that it hurts every time he makes a sharp, and saying that is bad with the way of singing that Mustaine adopted. Perhaps if he had taken classes in his youth, his voice would have aged better. Although the cancer and his neck operation also affect a lot I suppose.
It is amazing that even with all of the adversity that Dave has had to face over the years, he is still pushing forward and doing what he loves to do. From losing the ability to being able to play guitar do to nerve damage during physical therapy from compressing his radial nerve, having to learn how to play again because of the nerve damage, to beating cancer, Dave doesn't let adversity get him down. Really glad he is alive and well and enjoying life with his fans and his friends on stage again.
I love all 4 this concert man! They are BACK on TRACK! They seem so whole again! Hope this group holds as it gives me some really good vibes! Love this set aswell!
Thanks for filming the show and upload it here. Thanks for the band giving us new metal and live performance. Megadeth is here to show us how a real metal band is made of.
So surreal seeing live concerts going on again. It's been over two years since I went to gig. Lockdown here in Victoria so no concerts for quite a while. Thanks for filming and posting this. Great to see Megadeth still going in 2021.
@@redacted7104 The protests were ridiculous. Lots of different groups, some there with the intention of causing ttrouble. They didn't speed up the easing of lockdown last year, no reason it would work this year. Will just prolong it if anything.
@@Littlewing1977 We have some of the heaviest lockdown restrictions here despite having a relatively small number of cases. We have had under 1000 covid deaths since the start of it all whereas other countries are in the hundreds of thousands but opening up. Vaccine rollout has been slow. I have tickets for KISS in November which I am guessing will be Kancelled. Already missed out on Iron Maiden last year due to covid. Last gig I went to was Alestorm in February 2019. I had KISS tickets for November that year and Paul got the flu and they cancelled. Also had Metallica tickets for October and James went back to rehab. I think it was a sign of things to come... But there are bigger things in life than concerts.
The band sounds tight !!! Dave sounds refreshed, glad to see Lomenzo back and he’s kicking ass !!! There’s a whole new vibe here, much needed in this band …
Frickin LEGEND! After losing some of my all time favourite musicians and singers in recent years its so AWESOME to see Maestro Mustain up there killing it again! They're NOT gonna take this shit away from us! Go Dave!
Jesus this is a tight line-up; much as I love Junior's contributions to the band, I genuinely think the Lomenzo era had some of the best songwriting and performances for Megadeth; he's one slick player, and he adds a lot more life onstage at this point imo... I was very, very excited to see he was the (logical) replacement, and this video doesn't disappoint!!
@@hullan666 Absolutely!! Washington Is Next is one of my absolute favourites for Megadeth, and Amerikhastan kicks some serious ass; my all time favourite Lomenzo era songs would be 44 Minutes and Headcrusher!!
@@g.jvaughan1556 dude I 100% agree. The Lomenzo Era had some really great tunes that oddly disappeared when Jr rejoined. I'm hoping maybe some UA/Endgame tunes will find their way into the set.
@@chadmorral1326 Fingers crossed we get those songs, man; just imagine hearing them all again!! And you're totally right; other than one or two really awesome songs on Thirteen (which were almost always the really old ones they resurrected like Millennium Of The Blind), Juniors return did kind of seem a bit like the Kiss reunion; really cool, but more a case of someone having their spot in the band because they were the OG rather than recent merit. It's amazing to see so many Lomenzo fans here!!
This seems like one of those dream Megadeth shows where everything just comes together perfect. Dave's singing on point with his awesome guitar work. They sound fucking amazing here. I'm sorry I missed this show. Thanks so much for sharing! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Here in Auckland , New Zealand we are in Covid lockdown . Thanks for uploading this show and brightening my day indeed . I love Megadeth . I have seen them 3 times here in Auckland , NZ. Dave Mustaine is a great musician , his autobiography is a brilliant read indeed . Its amazing how many genres of music thrash and heavy metal has seen off over the years.Thrash and Heavy metal has stood the test of time indeed \m/
@@_NoizzMaker_ fuck, like you must be a better drummer then! Please, redo all of the songs in this video BETTER than Dirk, the actual official Megadeth drummer who makes a living off of it and you don’t, jealous?
Dirks unreal as a drummer. I didn't think the title track from Dystopia could get cooler, but the way he plays it, his groove is so much more natural and flow-y if that makes sense, it just feels a lot more lively to me
@@Madmetalmaniac42069 The Threat is Real feels loose like something off of Peace Sells now, Dirk imo is a perfect combination of Gar and Shawn Drover (both very precise)
I was actually really glad to see that James Lomenzo was brought back for this tour. I got the chance to talk to him for a good while during the United Abominations tour and he seemed like really nice guy.
I am going to call it: Give it a couple years and Dave will find some excuse to get rid of James. He will call Jr. up kiss his ass and tell Jr. that Megadeth is nothing without him and invite him back. Jr. will accept...and there you go.
Lomenzo definitely adds a spark of life to the band that's been a little lacking with Junior lately... love both of them, but honestly? My vote for strongest Megadeth album since Rust In Peace goes to Endgame, and strongest individual song for me would be Washington Is Next...
Kiko delivered the best interpretation of Tornado of souls solo. WAY better than Chris and with feeling!!! .. You respected Marty's legacy and played it accurately and that is something that true megadeth fans from that era will apreciate.. Love you Kiko!! You are the best! This lineup is the best since the Friedman/Menza era
this is one of the best live concerts of Megadeth ever! They are so tight and have a very full sound.Dave's voice sounds really good, as good-as or better than lots of pre-cancer concerts. That new gibson is cool, a flying v body with what looks like the exact same neck as his previous guitars except with a little "Gibson" logo at the top hehe
