Finally someone did this song! It has always been one of my favourites. The riffs in here are super cool. And I know about RU-vid downgrading video and audio quality. The thing is that RU-vid encodes in 2 different formats when you upload stuff, MP4 and VP9. VP9 is much higher quality (though it's still less than original file due to compression). To force a video into VP9 you had to render your videos on 1440p or more I think and upload them. If you let them stay in 1080p they get processed by RU-vid as MP4 and they have lower quality.
This is Chuck Behler on drums.. He only played on So Far, So Good... So What! Tracklist Into The Lungs Of Hell Set The World Afire Anarchy In The U.K *Mary Jane* 502 In My Darkest Hour Liar Hook In Mouth Personally I’m all about the 2004 Remaster on this album.. It’s clearer, Crisper and levelled better.. Chucks drum hit is just distracting in the original mix.. Fun facts time.. They recorded the symbols and the skins separately.... Chuck hated the producer for that.. And hated how they sounded.. Set The World Afire was the first song Dave wrote after his exit from Metallica... The songs name at that time was Megadeth... Inspired by a politicians quote on the scrape of paper he found on the floor of that grayhound bus.. “The Arsenal Of Megadeth will never be rid” In My Darkest Hour was written upon Dave learning about Cliff Burtons death... It wasn’t though Hetfield and Ulrich.. The lyrics are not about Cliff.. Only the musically inspiration of the news. Liar was written about previous lead guitar on Killing is my Business and Peace Sells Chris Poland... Chris would steal the bands shit and sell if for drug money.. Gar.. Would usually only sell his own shit... They were both hardcore heroin addicts.. That lifestyle took Gar eventually.. Chris got clean. Anarchy in the U.K was not the bands original choice of cover... Dave wanted to cover Problems.. Which they did.. It later appeared on Hidden Treasures EP. Hook in Mouth is about censorship and the PMRC.. The album didn’t preform as well as Peace Sells... It got harsh treatment from critics at the time.. It was at that point Dave started to tune out critics and go with what the fans reacted to and liked to hear.. Holy Wars was written when Megadeth were touring this album in Northern Ireland..
A year late on the response, but actually, this particular song was written before gar and chris were gone from the band... There is even a video playing this song with that line up somewhere in youtube... so its possible, chuck drum line was inspired by gar's playing. At the end of the day, chuck was gar's drum tech.
I listen to Dave mustaine's audiobook and he mentioned the format of the early music had to be a Pacific length due to most albums even though cassette was really big then so was vinyl... And when they put down tracks on vinyl to get a good sound the songs needed to be sort of short and between 4 in five songs on each side because putting too much information on a record deteriorated the sound... Hints the reason you're finding the songs to be too short assuming 1 C wrote songs in that formula he might have just stuck with it...
Really? Total BS. Come ON. Back in even the 70s….they had Pink Floyd their songs can he 10mins! And LOTS of other bands that have long songs…..In Dagga Da Vida? That’s 18 MINUTES….and tons of classical vinyls I had songs that were regularly 10-25 mins per song and they had the usual songs…..snd sorry but in the 80s not every tape was on vinyl AT ALL. You really had to fight to find a lot of popular music on vinyl….or order it. Late 80s you couldn’t even find vinyl singles …they were ALL ON TAPE. The single songs. It’s always best to ask someone who LIVED thorough the decades…..so NO ….they didn’t make the songs short cuz of stupid vinyl requirement 😂🙄🤷🏼♀️
You're talking to someone who was 26 when this video came out and knew, and still knows very little about that time period for music. Chill out. The whole point of a music discovery channel is to discover music and I'm going to get it wrong sometimes.
Chuck Behler had been Gar Samuelson's drum tech and when Gar was fired, he was asked to be Megadeth's drummer. It was for just this one album as was Jeff Young on lead, was a one album wonder as well. Considering who they were following, they did quite good, but just like TWNAH (with Al Pitrelli on lead and Jimmy DeGrasso on drums, replacing Marty and Nick), Jeff and Chuck were also stuck trying to fill their predecessors (Poland and Samuelson) shoes, and they were big shoes.
