I keep coming back to this. Wether it is about someone I know passing away or just feeling extremely hurt in a relationship, this song is always here to comfort me and allow me to let my feelings flow free, without fear of judgement
I think we can all agree that you are not alone, I also come back to this track when I suddenly remember someone I haven’t seen in a while or when I have a certain memory I wish I could relive again…
For me, it all ends here. When I finished X5 for the first time, I really had this "closure" feeling. Mega Man was always a part of my life since I was a little kid. I remember playing the games with my dad and watching the cartoons with my mom. My father suddenly passed away in mid-2001 when I was just 8, and I found refuge from grief in my PS1 games that my father had gotten for me some years earlier. My family took me on a trip at the end of 2001 to cheer me up, and there I got a copy of MMX5, which I was crazy to play when I get back home. I enjoyed every single second of that game and remember the struggle to beat the final stages and Sigma, while also enjoying the story, anxious to know what was going to happen with X and Zero. After days of trying, I finally got to the ending, where Zero dies "alone" with his memories. When the credits started rolling, I was static, overwhelmed with emotions. My two heroes in the video game universe had just gotten their deserved rest. I was not sad exactly; I just had that feeling of "that's it. This is where the journey ends." Looking back now, I think it helped me to cope with my grief at the time :`)
this game means a lot to me. as a kid X4 and X5 were something else, killer music, challenging level design, tight and insanely fun movement. it felt like i was exploring the future, this mysterious world filled with robots and cyberspace grids. ive played it so much its hard not to notice the robots patterns. as a kid it really felt like you had a whale robot threatening to obliterate you with a laser. when youre a kid and you dont really know what music is you know you loved the level themes and boss music. when you didnt know what anime was you knew you loved the cheesy cut scenes, most of all it was just a fun experience.
Why wasn't this the finale? Because X5 was a critical and financial success, not to the degree of X4 but still very successful. To say that money talks and nothing is sacred, in this case storytelling, is a gross understatement.
@@araucanoraptorargentinus3973 That is true! X5 was supposed to be the final entry of X series, continuing into Zero series. X6, in my opinion, is where things start to go silly. (Wasn't it supposed to be 3 years later? Why did they change it to 3 weeks?)
@@josephsu9574 To be honest the x6 story would work just fine regardless if it was 3 weeks or 3 years. That and if they had some proper translation on x6 (no, zero did not "hid himself while he repaired himself", on JP he just says when he awoke he was already fixed, he doesnt know who but someone or something fixed him, probably wily "ghost" or some of his AIs since obviously nobody but him can fully rebuild zero).
@Andre-od5hf if I remember correctly, wasn't Isoc voiced by Wily's VA? Serges was supposed to be a Wily reference as well, though the creator stated that Wily was brought back by the Virus itself.
Notice how this song sounds very similar to the main theme of Mega Man Zero 4 (most notably in the song "Holy Land")? And this song here is playing after Zero dies.... OK, this can't be coincidence. Luna Umegaki must have done that on purpose.
@@MatthewTheWolf2029 Sadly this isn't true, at least not yet. Zero's physical body died, so now he's a Cyber Elf. But since X's Cyber Elf energy ran out, he's now gone completely, while Zero is still a Cyber Elf. So it's really sad because even after all the horrible stuff Zero went through, he still doesn't get to be with X once he dies. It would be cool if Zero guided someone else through their journey in a new series, as X did with Zero.
this theme is really sad that it pulls my heart strings to almost rip. I grew up with megaman, best series ever, I have to thank my cousin for showing me one of the best series in the world. I also grew up with Mario and sonic, but they won't beat the blue bomber. megaman will always live in my heart. He is a legendary hero in my book. damn the feels of sadness and tears rolling down my cheeks. I just cant believe that Capcom said good bye to megaman, as if he was trash, megaman is not trash, he is life, he teaches us very important stuff. like always be there for your friends and even if we have to fight them to bring them back on the road, I mean x and z are bff's and x had to fight him, to bring him back when he was corrupted from the virus. love you megaman, rest in peace my friend.
The theme of this game is very sad, if you go through any recent trauma don't play it, I speak for myself that I went through one and almost got emotional.
Megaman X5 what a Game what a Drama story and what a sadness at the end , this soundtrack after Zero's Death make me Cry everytime , Japanese game producers are always the best ! thats all I can say while my tears are coming down of my cheeks , they can really touch your heart and your feelings with their games !
To me, Megaman X5 was the real ending. Megaman X5 was supposed to be the last game, but Capcom made X6, X7 and X8 behind Infune's back. To me X6, X7 abd X8 are like Dragonball GT of the series because there both fillers.
Eh, he started not caring about the X series by the time X4 rolled out. The only thing that got in his way was that he had to re-write the story of the Zero series, but other than that, I think he cared less about what they'd do with the X series.
Yeah X5 was originally suppose to be the last. Ngl im kinda glad he rewrote the story since apparently X was originally going to be the villain in the zero series. Dont like seeing characters youve been attached to turned out like that. I can understand what they were going for tho and been hinted in x4 if X went maverick.
@@EXFOOLYCOOLYsame I don’t like the idea of x going evil because it not in his character to do that I get that he wanted to do but it would upset a lot of fans who grew attached to him
On the other hand, this a rather somber, yet bittersweet song. Its like the song when you listen to after you survived a long and grueling struggle, and then you take the time to reflect on your victory, which came at the cost of losing good friends.
Megaman X5 went from just being an action game to a second dark and tragic story of one losing his friend. I felt sorry for Zero after he died the second time since the 1st game.
rockmenx8xx Mega Man X7 killed Mega Man if any X titles did (the way I see it, over-focus on the Battle Network series killed Mega Man.) X5 is usually regarded as a good game. If you want a BAD game, see Mega Man X6 or Mega Man X7.
This is also X's bad ending theme, Zero is destroyed completely when Sigma dies. X is nearly dead afterwards until Dr Light repairs him, with a drastic change, any trace of Zero in X's mind is erased and X also shows interest in building a city of paradise for humans and Reploids, "Elysium".
My personal Megaman timeline is like this Classic Series --> X1 to X5 from there it's splits off in two timelines, 5's Bad ending leads to the legends Series and the good ending of X5 leads to Zero Series. (The ZX series still happens in the megaman zero timeline if you're wondering) (I just ended up throwing the rest of the X Series somewhere else but if you're curious of what personal timeline I'll do for those games its like this X6 to X7 to X8 to X Command Mission)
This theme song really shows us how we reminded of Capcom back when they listen to the fans. Now they're a greedy corrupted company cashing only to Street Fighter and Resident Evil and that horrible DmC reboot.
@@dirtydeedsdonedirtcheap7818 TBF it was at the expense of street fighter though- street fighter 5 didnt live up to street fighter 4, and ultra street fighter 2 exists. everything else though.. they brought out their A game
And to think that the entire series would have ended here... This music piece fits right in with this part... But apparently there's NO part because Zero went to hide himself to repair himself!
When I hear this song, I remember my sophomore year in high-school (since the game was released at that time). But it also makes me think of the autumn and the winter.
I dedicate this song to the Late JDF aka Jason david frank the green ranger from Mighty morphin power rangers. he was my childhood heros. RIP. im in tears right now playing this song
As much as I really like the Zero series, looking to the past I wish the X series stopped here so the Zero series would get to the alternate route with X as a legitimate villain, although, honestly, our actual story makes more sense.
Damn, what a banger. Reminds me of a time that wasent quite so hectic.... good times.Charge your buster or grab your saber and push on you maverick hunters!
amazing series of games breaks my heart that there will never be more but I can always go back I keep telling myself just one more time but that was 20 plays ago xD love this game and every god damn thing about it
This sounds like the kind of music that would play when you're looking up at a starry night sky after your loved one has passed away. The cool wind on your face as you're hoping for better days ahead.
Every time I hear this song I feel very sad, I recently moved from London to Mexico and I feel so sad that I had to leave behind my home behind and now I’m going to uni and it’s not as good as my old school. I feel like I’m right now at my all time lowest, I want to go back to home to london, back to having my piano lessons, my fitness sessions with my personal trainer (I miss telling him about my adventures playing mega man), my old school, & see my old friends. I just want my old life back. That’s the only the thing that will make me feel back to being very happy and that will make me feel no longer sad & Blue. Update: I’m now feeling better, but I miss my friend from my old school. She was a replacement for one of my old friend’s turned maverick and now she’s a mean person, my new friend got rid of my small depression & made me feel like she was my best friend, & she was way past cool.
The feeling I get from this song is that something, whatever it is, is over. And maybe it wasn't the best ending, but it's over, and you can rest a little bit now
"It's over.....my life.....my world. Everything has crumbled all around me....and I was ready. I was prepared to relinquish all that I had stolen from him and become the real me. But she.......she won't let me go....."
After like a decade of having beaten the games, u know what this makes me realize? In X6, Zero repairing himself shows me, he couldve survived his injuries in X5. As wild as that is, it was still possible for him to bounce back. But in that moment, overcome with guilt, sadness, and regret, Zero gave up on himself. Its kinda akin to suicid3. If his mental health were better, if he had gone to someone (maybe X, signas, alia, or life saver) and confessed his guilt, and allowed them to help him, he may not have been so willing to throw it all away. But holding onto such painful thoughts for so long, it crushed him. Even the strong get tired. Its funny how a game about red and blue robots that shoot energy lemons can pack so many heavy messages into it. 1 that this and the next game (X6) delve into a bit is mental health. Its much more important than we give it credit for. I find it funny that the mind can impact the body just as much as the inverse. Heck theres a story about a kid being borderline dead from bee stings but his detemination to be like GOKU saved him. I think Zeros problem, such crushing negative emotions, is sumn many others share in our world. Its why i try my best to be kind to others i see on the street. A hello, a smile, a wave. Because u never know what someone is going through. Internal struggles they may be fighting, and possibly losing. That lil bit of positivity could be what pulls them out of a dark day. What im saying is, check up on ur loved ones and try to be kind to others. U never know when someone is on the verge of their "Zero day" and choosing to give up on life instead of hanging on.
they need to make a Mega man X9 in PS format and tie up any loose ends in mega man X5 to finally answer everyone's questions about what REALLY happened in the story
While I get most fans prefer the Japanese openinging and ending themes for the games I honestly think this theme fits the tone of X5 way better, this track oozes bittersweet ending that X5 was all about.
this theme really feels hope crushing looking at the bad things that happened to megaman soo far legends 3 online universe and that FPS reboot of the x saga cancelled for no apparent reason other than the staff of capcom being jerks and a kinda boring IOS game that is xover and mighty no.9 doesnt make me feel any better dunno why but something is never truly dead until every single fan has gived up
Anyo Gambito Inafune actually stated that Maverick Hunter X was originally going to be X9 but he wanted to bring it back to it's roots and rewrite the story.
Twipz41 but then the maverick hunter x saga ended up as a stillborn franchise (a franchise wich was planned to be big but ended up with just 1 installment) ¡¡¡DAMNIT!!!!
I looked for this theme many times, but never found until now, thanks for this song. I think it's a real good song for the real ending of megaman X saga. For me, the true story should stop in this game.
what I would want is PS1 graphics, gameplay, and voice acting (the voices used in X5 for zero and X) and X8 stage design (damn they were good) also have original music and old music( not remixed) from X4, X5, X6, and X8.
Oh my god... I just realized Megaman Zero 4's ending credits theme IS a revamp of THIS theme! Fuck! Ugh... That's what makes the original vision plus the revised Zero series vision of the X series so cool... Zero.
They would fight again at the end 100 years since during the Eurasia Crisis which after X's defeat, he finally remembers Zero (Zero also gained his memories back also) and ask him to finish him off as he did what he did what was the opposite of Sigma. Zero, hesitant of killing his best friend, did it anyway. That would have been a more serious pliot than the one now.
Fr this was Zero's perfect way to go out (at least in the X series) they could have continued without him and even have X be what Zero was for him to AXL
Yeah I agree, with X being the villian in Mega Man Zero, could have been emotional with X's memories of Zero were erased, in the original pliot of Mega Man Zero which he is still leader of Neo Arcadia and Zero losts his memories after being revived.
@omegablk18 Well Bass, Megaman, and Protoman can be explained in the future Megaman games. As for the X series, I personally feel that this ending truly ended the Sigma phenomenon.
This theme is all sadness compared to the previous games' credits theme and would had meant more had the game stuck with being the final game in the series with the first MMZ game starting off where MMX5 left off. This applies a lot to Zero more, finding out his true purpose and believing that he must die as his mere existence is endangering everyone.
