You can tell that they actually cared enough about the transformers that they got the designs almost perfectly. Not to mention getting frank welker to voice megatron
Think of it this way: they respect his contracts. Frank Welker has been basically everywhere. Far as we're concerned, he's still collecting Royalties from Inspector Gadget. He might just be doing this role for fun. Robot Chicken does, however, struggle to hire him outside of Fred.
Fun Fact: The green and yellow bot infront of Shockwave is Barrage, an insecticon that has next to no television media to him except for Family Guy as his first and only appearance in any media outside of the toyline.
You can really tell when the creators are doing a gag they love. This quick clip seemed like an excuse to squeeze in as many of their favorite Decepticons as possible.
@@kainthedragoon8081 nope, there were one episode much earlier were Peter and Joe were gonna do a burglary but Joe had a change of heart in the van and had Megatron yell Do as I command to Peter. And there's an even earlier episode were Optimus is a jew and reads from the Tora
I guess being from the "Tron" family line, they may be siblings, so if Megs kills Negs, he may have to answer to his parents, and then lose his trust fund that he uses for his evil plans 😆
I like the art style but the joke is painfully unfunny we're going to have a Transformers series like this it's just going to be an animated adaption Michael bay's Transformers
Some TF shows do have their level of darkness but tend to not go overboard on it. If you are looking for more unhinged moments you may want to give some comic series a try.
I managed to figure out all the Decepticons shown here (besides the canoe guy) From left to right: - Skywarp - Starscream - Shockwave - Barrage - Megatron (obviously) - Scrapper - Astrotrain - Hook - Rumble - Soundwave - Frenzy
@@JimmyTVu The main reason none of the Deluxe Decepticons (and the Deluxe Autobots) appeared in the original cartoon was because Hasbro had licensed the molds from Bandai (who acquired them from Takatoku Toys when it went bust) and slapped Autobot or Decepticon insignias on. Bandai was one of Takara's biggest competitors, and they didn't want to give them free publicity, so they forbade them from appearing in the cartoon (Jetfire, another Bandai mold, did appear, but with a different appearance and under the name "Skyfire"). Hasbro also licensed molds from Tomy (Omega Supreme and Sky Lynx), and ToyCo (Shockwave); Jetfire had to have a different appearance in the cartoon (and was named Skyfire), Omega Supreme and Sky Lynx were allowed to appear, but weren't sold in Japan (Tomy merged with Takara in 2005 to form TakaraTomy, and Omega Supreme and Sky Lynx's original toys were released in Japan in 2008), and ToyCo was too small to be of any threat to Takara, so they not only allowed Shockwave to be prominent, they also licensed the mold and gave him a Japanese name, Laserwave.
Canoebot does have a point, no matter what continuity their in, the Autobots always ends up kicking their decepticon asses and winning, heck it's even the same story in shattered glass
Wow, kudos for animators, I can recognize almost all of classic G1 Transformers, except Canoe-pticon and that green-yellow one between Megatron and Shockwave
That other guy is actually a pretty obscure Decepticon--he's Barrage, one of the 1985 deluxe Insecticons. Also, how very odd for this to be his animation debut.
Barrage's toy was recolored from a toy from a company that was Takara's rival called Takatoku Toy (the same company that created the Macross Valkyrie that would become Jetfire aka Skyfire) and as such him and the other Deluxe Insecticons didnt appear in the cartoon (even thought Jetfire did with an extreme redesign).
Yeah, I mean, it would make much more sense it was Bombshell or any other Decepticon who actually appeared in the cartoon. This is like if they had a cutaway with the Autobots and Whirl or Topspin made a cameo.
Jimmy T. Vu Really? Because I thought Megatron was the so-called Negatron. I mean it’s only natural they make something funny like that. But what kind of canoe Deceptacon is named Negatron. I thought that name was for Megatron there. Get what I’m saying here?
Doubtful most battles in G1 followed the same formula where the decepticons come up with some scheme to steal energy/weapons/materials to build weapons from earth, autobots confront them and when megatron gets tired of the resistance decepticons abandon their plans and retreat.
They also won in the Season 2 episode Kremzeek the episode where Megatron accidentally creates an electrical creature and uses it as A weapon against the Autobots
Hey, wait a minute.. Deluxe Insecticon "Barrage" (green, yellow & orange guy standing between Shockwave and Megatron) was never in the cartoon. The artist must have owned "Barrage" as a child, I sure did.
I love watching the context for the cutaway gags, because it makes you wonder what line logic they'll follow in order to make whatever reference they want to make relevant.
negatron could be perfect for a covert recon to probe the perimeter defenses an Autobot resort in Canada where the Griffins are staying: his bland exterior cloaks him in plain sight from finest security cameras which regard the spy as a piece of wood and he could actually become friends with a few campers who choose him as their vessel to explore a river estuary that opens into raging rapids that even champion rowing teams use extra caution then they get surprised when their boat threads the needle at a formidable bend and they win a gold medal thanks to Nega’s steering then one day unfolds into a metal pessimist who is regarded as a drifter with a heart of gold. and Optimus Prime has no idea that a Decepticon has infiltrated the camp since Mega treats Negatron as the embarrassing relative who is notorious for consuming gallons of alcohol then starting drunken fights
Considering all the random vehiches and objects they are capable of transforming into,i wouldn't be surprised if there is actually a canoe decepticon in actual lore somewhere.
Damn, I see Starscream, Shockwave, some of the constructicons, Skywarp, Soundwave, the cassettes. Hell, they even have Astrotrain, and they got the designs right. You would think Blitzwing would be there instead of Astrotrain. I always felt Blitzwing was more popular and well known then Astrotrain
The funniest thing about this cutaway is that Barrage (The green and orange insecticon in front of Shockwave) is one of the G1 Deluxe Insecticons, who never appeared in any form of cartoon before this. This means that you can say a transformers character's first and/or only appearance in animation is in Family Guy and be entirely correct.
He was. Then, he started haunting houses and possessing other Decepticons until he found a way to restore his physical body. Stupid inextiguishable mutant spark.
i never expected to see frenzy astro train shockwave and some toher decepticons in family guy specially for them being incredably detailed for some cutaway.
