I’ve been using Meguiar’s carnauba for almost 40 years. I live in the States. A little advice…don’t press so hard and a second coat will blow your mind even more.

You probably are putting some of the fine scratches with that cloth, its got edges which are rough plus there is a label on it, you shouldn't be pressing so hard, absolute minimum pressure with a decent edgeless Korean microfibre cloth. Dusting is not a good thing, it also can introduce fine scrathing. Dont think i am knocking you, just want to let you know so you can enjoy detailing your car like me, try infinity wax tyre candy or carpro perl for your tyres. Keep up the good work
All the things we do for our toys and making them shiny… if you looked at my car boot you’d think I was a professional detailer with all the various products I’ve accumulated 😅 and the amount of microfibre clothes and drying towels I have is ridiculous

When l wax/polish my Jag I apply with a good applicator but coat using straight lines NOT a swirling motion and it’s the same when taking the polish off. Use the same technique when washing and drying 😉👍
Good video I'm new to this I bought a new car and wanted to try waxing it was wondering about the plastic bumper should I not wax that? It's a 2023 honda civic sport touring not as nice as a jag
Try nighthawk brand dtxx. You can dry like 3 suvs with it bc of 2000 gsm. And iron label paste wax. Carnauba that lasts up to a year. Only double the price sure, but better than all that over the counter turtle wax and mguires crap
I currently have that wax and used it a few times on my black MK6 Jetta, it does give a nice deep black shine. My car does need a machine polish however, so if I apply the wax now it will enhsnce the gloss but also make some of the swirls and scratches more visible. Great video, your car looks really nice 😊
Nice video buddy and a lovely car. You brought out some absolutely brilliant points during the video. I'd like to add some points, Megs gold is a lovely product, they employ an easy removal system so their waxes are really easy to remove, especially their ultimate liquid wax. Te expel a few myths from a self confessed wax whore. You really really don't need much product (wax) applied, there should be the thinnest film of wax on the panel. Apply with hardly any pressure, minimum amount of wax on the applicator. If you see the wax drying like clay you have too much on like can be seen in this video, luckily this wax is very forgiving as some are not. I load my applicator then dab the aplicator 6 times on the panel to be waxes, this ensures that you get an even abount of wax distributed across the pannel for even coverage. Apply in lines or circles it doesn't matter at all as at this point your paint will be clean, the wax will act as a lubricant between the paint and the applicator so apply how you like. What your mate says about dusting is bollocks. Many moons ago when waxes and polymers weren't as advanced, yes they dusted but now we've gone from just carnauba wax waxes to Si02 to graphine infused waxes that can be left overnight and still buff off easy asit went on. When removing it's best to use 2 good quality microfibres, one for the initial buff then one for the final buff. Using one cloth will tend to clog, especially as the residue cures in the cloth, so turn the cloths to new sides often for a better finish. You should also do a swipe test to ensure a wax is cured. If a wax isn't cured, it will have reduced durability. If it over cured then lightly reapply some more wax and let it cure then remove or spray some quick detailer and wipe off. It's always good to pair a wax with a quick detailer as this will top up the wax, prolonging it's durability whilst adding gloss and shine in a matter of minutes lessening the need to rewax again. I hope this helps, I'm just a wax lover that's used hundreds of various waxes. One for you all to try which will blow you away is Gyeon Q2 wax, apply, leave to cure for 30 mins then buff off, you'll be blown away by everything to do with this wax. The cure time is a bit long but while you sort your glass, dress the tyres have a brew it'll be done. Thank me later 😁
