Meguiar's Ultimate Paste Wax VS Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Plus Paste Wax(water test) 

Makes sense. Older cars benefit from Carnuba since they lack a modern clearcoat, or cars whose clearcoat has degraded. Modern clearcoats see no real benefit from a carnuba and benefit more from a good synthetic.

@@amandawhite3963 It's Meguirs Cleaner Wax #1. Not sure if they still sell it though. The last time I bought wax they didn't have it so I bought Mothers Pre-Wax Cleaner. Same thing. Those type of products are not usually a final coat wax. After using a cleaner wax, you should put a coat of Carnuba wax. I use Meguirs #26.

You're reading the label which is the first mistake. Then you believe what's on the label. 2nd mistake. Both products are crap and not needed. Both contain Petroleum Distillates as their main ingredient according to the MSDS. Gold Class Paste Car Wax has Naphtha (petroleum), silicones, and Petroleum Distillates and not one atom of carnuaba wax according to the MSDS. Too many people have bought into the "professional detailer line" of shit that these companies smear all over the place. Mothers liquid wax has the highest concentration of wax. Put 3 oz. into a bottle and 27 oz. of distilled water. Use Purple Power Vehicle and Boat Wash to decontaminate your vehicle and this spray wax after each cleaning (I didn't say wash). You car is now 100% clean and free of road film and has a great layer of wax that can last 4 - 6 weeks. Clean you car every 2 weeks or when needed and use your Mothers homemade spray wax. Nothing else will ever be needed. You can make a gallon of perfect wax for $7.

Carnuba is great stuff, just somewhat pointless for modern clearcoats. Carnuba's are the best around for olders cars, or cars whos clearcoat has degraded.

@@junkiexl86 I wouldn't say Carnauba is pointless. It does provide a warmer and deeper gleam or shine on modern clearcoats than the Synthetic. I have used both gold class and Ultimate on my car and looks are quite different.

the fact that he did a comparison video, he had to say something. ultimate seemed to be a little better, but almost negligible

I notice the biggest difference near the top of the hood. The Gold takes noticeably longer to gather enough water together to cause it to slide off. That means in real world conditions you'll have more standing water for longer, which in turn means as it dries it leaves water spots and dirt.

@@juanpaVlz Should be advertised then I’m with you that it needs to be set for a certain amount of hours. They put every instruction on the bottle but they don’t put the cure time Maybe you’re wrong and there is no cure time lol

Yea it doesnt matter and many retailers do videos about it not mattering. You've got no abrasive in the wax or on the pad (hopefully) so it makes no difference, you're not a rotary buffer. Its personal preference.

That's good info, thanks.! It's the end of april in NJ,2O21. I have a black Benz, and every morning if I dont have my car covered its, covered in pollen. I going to try the meguiars ultimate wax and see if it helps. If not I'll just keep dusting it off !!

PLEASE NO! Don't wash anything with dish soap other than dishes. Meguiar's Wash Plus should remove much of, if not all, the old wax and really does a good job of cleaning your car. Chem. Guys makes another product that supposedly cleans wax off but I haven't used it. I'm sure there are other products. It astounds me that so many basically allege that breathing on the car will scratch the paint but blindly follow the idea that using a product designed for another purpose is fine. Will dish soap mar your paint? I don't know but why take the chance when there are better products out there. It certainly doesn't help.

Synthetic will normally be more durable. Carnauba wax will normally have a slightly warmer shine to it but not last as long.

@@muhammadaswin8016 You’ll probably fine for darker coloured cars the ultimate has a slight edge. Ultimate will also last longer (especially in hotter climates). But these differences are minimal, they are both very good waxes. Just make sure the paint is as clean as it can be before applying and you only need a small amount. Applying too much wax means it won’t cure, a thin layer is all you need. You can use the detailed as a drying aid or for maintenance .

thegoldenboy294 you only really need to apply in a circular motion if you’re using a “cleaning wax” which you’d normally use if you haven’t clay bar’d your car in a while. Other than that if you’ve clay bar’d you car there’s really not point in circular motion it’s all preference
