WOW! I’ve had the ceramic wax for over a week now and still haven’t used it as for I was doing some paint correction and polishing to my car. I was a little but iffy about this rinse off technique, I’m so glad I saw you’re video which proved to me that applying it with no rinsing gives better results! you don’t see a lot of videos like that on YT.

This has become my favorite channel as of late.

I was so worried this product was going to be a gimmick, but the results of your test as well as my own speak for themselves. I started with 2 dry applications (like you recommended) last fall. Maintained every 2-3 weeks with spray-on-wipe-off application like a standard spray sealant, plus occasionally topped with good old Meg's Gold Class spray wax because I love the look. Made it through a road-salt-filled winter no problem - I was surprised at how easily my post-winter decontamination went. Anyway, great video, very thorough testing. You've earned a sub.

Super video comparison. Thank you for your testing. I am already a fan of Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax, but I was surprised to see that Beadmaker doesn't add the gloss like I thought it did. From now on, I'm applying the Meguiar's on dry paint as opposed to what the manufacturer recommends, as I see if works much better that way. Great job.

I bought this product on a friends recommendation, but when I watched the application videos I didn't use it. Just didn't make sense to me to use it like that. I think considering the price point, it's a great deal with great store availability. Looks 95% as good as Nv Lustre, similar durability, and costs 1/8th the price per mL. Sounds like a winner to me.

Completely agree with the dry application. I do it that way all the time and it lasts for a few months!

I Recently tried the Meguiars ceramic spray wax.. First as instructed and then a dry application and found the same results. A dry application left a much better finish. Very nice job on your video.

I think Meguiar's should update the bottle instructions: Apply dry for the foundation layer and immediately buff off. Refresher layers can be sprayed onto the rinse water and buffed dry. I apply mine to dry paint and get great durability and luster as a result.

I'm disappointed that I found this video this late as I've used the wet application with unsatisfactory results... Now I'm keen on trying out the dry application! I've watched just about every video on maguiars hybrid ceramic wax and this is the only one to have done a dry application, ironically with the best results on hydrophobicity and chemical resistance than any other application method. Thank you!

Bought a fiesta st2 mk7 and have been obsessed with keeping the blue bright and vibrant, used to use 222 carnauba wax but it's time consuming, for winter months it just doesn't repel that well, was interested in this product and I was tempted to use it dry and this video has confirmed that I can 😁😁😁😁

Tomorrow morning I will try the wax on a dry surface. Can't wait to see the results. I think I watched every video about the ceramic wax until this clip when I change my mind about how to apply the hybrid ceramic wax. I saw the better results in a dry application. Thy for the video! ^^

Used beadmaker, didn't bead. Used ceramic wax spray and rinse off like Megauires, had average results like you did and now the bottles finished! Every time you have showcased a nova product, it has done exactly what the description said it does and more! Just picked up the nova spray coating pack from waxit and looking forward to trying them!

I always use the hybrid ceramic detailer, finish with spray wax on dry paint. Excellent result! Great video that confirms that I’m not wasting my time waxing 👍🏼

Glad I picked up a pack of Lustre & Jet to test out rather than HCW, although very interested to see you testing out Turtle Wax Seal'N'Shine against Lustre (and/or a Lustre+Jet combo) as a lot of the US/UK detailers are showing it's very hard to cause it harm (chemically at least). I'd also be interested to see your tests on some other Aussie products (like the Optix range) Cheers!

Very interesting result on the dry application. And confirmed my suspicions about the spray & rinse method.

Excellent review with perfect timing. About a month ago I did the dry application on two cars. Neither car is garaged and weren't washed. This method only used a small amount of product. Results were better than expected. Last night before viewing this video I washed both cars and did the recommended spray and rinse method. Once I dried the cars they again looked great. One problem... I used a lot of product. Probably because it was the first time and I over did it. I would adjust next time. But I think next time I would just do the dry app. You don't save that much time and use quite a bit less product. I highly recommend meguires hybrid wax!

Beat review and testing of this product by far ! Thanks for the work and thought you put into this video. Now I can properly go apply the Meguiars to my truck.

I've done 3 cars with this. All on dry cars. It's been a few weeks and they still look great. My car is usually a lot dustier by now. But it seems to not be as much of a dust magnet. One of the cars is kept outside and that is much better than it normally would be. The headlights and taillights look brand new too. Windows and windscreen are easier to clean with the wipers too. Thumbs up from me.

Another great video my friend. I had much the same findings as you. I’ve bee testing Mothers CMX too. Then I found Turtle wax Seal and Shine. Wow. The chemical resistance is great out doing Megs and CMX. At $25 a bottle it’s a steal. Highly recommended. I think you’d dig it.

I purchased a bottle pretty much as soon as it was available for purchase. I’ve been using it for the last 6 months and have been enjoying it quite a bit. I did notice that after the initial recommended application I felt subsequent spray and rinse applications felt lackluster. After getting a tip in autogeekonline, I started playing around with diluting the product. I know that meguiars doesn’t recommend this, but I’ve had no issues with it mixing and staying mixed inside my spray bottle. At the moment I have a 1000ml bottle mixed up 7:1, and my usual procedure now is to wash the car, blow 85-90%+ of the water off the surface, and go around giving each panel a spray or two to use as a drying aid/for lubrication since the surface is basically dry anyway. My plan is to keep dialing up the dilution until it gets to the point where I see some streaking if I’m being belligerent with it. I have noticed a lot more consistent and stronger beading since I started using it this way. I may try a couple dry applications with it undiluted just to see how that feels. Would love to hear your thoughts on diluting the product.

I love the ceramic wax, but now I think I have to try lustre. Slickness and gloss looks off the charts.

Seriously informative. May I suggest investing in a water hose system that dispenses water at the same time? It would be a game changer in observing differences in water run-off data

Am in love with Jet currently, but now tempted to try lustre. That gloss difference from beadmaker, to ceramic wax then to lustre is crazy. I think it would be great in the summer!

Sandro..interesting test Meguairs's Beadmaker Luster on a panel. So basically one would decide which properties are most wanted ;water repellancy OR slickness. Water repellancy I'd prefer and maybe add a quick detail spray over that for slickness. Rains so much here USA that water sheeting is important. Cheers!

Hi Sandro. After watching your vid I thought I try the Mag Hybrid Wax. I can confirm that it is one of the best "over the counter" si02 you can buy at the moment. It has nice reflections and is to my view very similar to NV Jet. But having used Jet and Lustre before on my Black car, I would put them in the order of Lustre then Jet then Hybrid Wax in terms of how my car look. But at this stage based on availability and value I would choose Hybrid Wax. Thanks again for the great work you've done

With the winter weather happening now, I think this ceramic wax spray will do the trick. A good wash, then dry application and curing.

Looks like I'll be applying my next coat dry. I did mine as directed, and was not impressed. I was going to use up the rest here and look elsewhere, but this video changed my mind. Great video. Thumbs up.

I know that darker paints are the best choice to show visually on camera, the results of a product after application but I think white cars make up a large number of vehicles on the road and would love to see a video from one of my favourite detailing channels 😉 demonstrating best techniques and products to use on white vehicles (especially pearl whites).

Great review. I've been using HCW for ~ 4-5 months on my own car and have been very impressed with the results and ease of use; love that it can be used on trim as well. Applied the first layer as suggested, and have used it as a drying aid on subsequent washes with 1-2 sprays per panel while working in with a microfiber and using a second microfiber to buff dry the leftover product/water. The spray-on and wash-off technique seems like a waste of product. After seeing your video, I'll have to try a dry application on a clean car.

Dear maestro Sandro, after watching your video I went to buy this product (here in Mexico it costs 500 pesos around 27USDollars or 20euros); carefully wash my wife's car; I polished it by hand and applied the product dry as you recommended... the result was surprising; the car shines like never before and the water repellency is as described in your video. My wife is so happy that she decided to talk to me again; what she doesn't know is that I first experimented in her car before applying it to mine. Thank you !! ... Greetings from Monterrey.

I really enjoyed your video! Using the flat panels that you were using there's no saying that one side was better than the other. I've been using Meguiars hybrid ceramic wax for about two months now! I've never used it the way they prescribe. I have a spray bottle that I put 2 parts water 1 part product. That formula works very well with no streaking! And I do this on the car after I dry it off. And it Buffs out beautifully. I tried using 1 part water, and 1 part Meguiars and I got streaking and it was difficult to buff out by hand. Because the product is so thick! The water beading is very good! For the most part all I have to do is pressure wash and dry with no soap and the product just keeps going and going! With it being so easy to apply sometimes I reapply every other week, just because I can do it! Typically I will do this after a soap wash. I just bought the Turtle Wax Seal and shine! I want to try it but I still have a lot of the Meguiars leftover, using it the way I described. So I'm just waiting. In the meantime I would like to see what you do with the Turtle Wax! It seems as though the Turtle Wax is the new kid on the Block supposedly even outperforming the Maguires! I'd love to see you do a test with that Turtle Wax seal and shine!
