i think its confusing cause in season 1 she controlled actual time not molecules. plus in OG charmed piper went from time witch to molecular manipulation too but her powers didn't change only the explanation behind. so because piper/mel abilities are so all over the place we dont know what to think

@@47jjak You can't literally freeze the time, that would affect gravity and we would all fall in space. She was stopping the molecules in time. The time was going as usual, but stuff and people froze. That's why it makes sense. And it's actually better since it can somehow be explained by science.

Their powers only got switched over to molecules to explain the new abilities they got without plot holes. Also it's a show I doubt they care about gravity or falling into space

bluesky98 neither her nor Piper were literally freezing time.. look at the very first episode of the original Charmed, Piper tries to freeze a demon but he’s powerful so she only slows him down, and that happens more throughout the show. Because they slow down molecules, and powerful demons they can’t freeze the molecules all the way. That’s why when Piper’s powers evolved she just learned to SPEED UP molecules

My theory is that she can control time on an atomic and subatomic level. Maybe she's able to separate time from our general understanding and focus it on one object or thing. She can speed up time so much in an object to where it produces heat as well as slowing time down so much in an object to where it freezes. I think that it's actually a pretty new take on time control.

I guess they trying to give her new power but hopefully she get her original power or get pipers fingers crossed

Macy's a complex character with a lot of archs, but to name a few: her struggle to connect to her sisters while keeping her independence, her refusal to loose control, not accepting her own desires, and many other characteristics. I believe that her telekinesis is tied to the fact that she always keeps herself under control, and therefore she's also able to keep "the world" under control. Her new power that can basically keep people from moving might also come from one aspect of her self-control: keeping her emotions bottled. Her demonic powers are more difficult to connect to her personality since I would connect the "evil sight" to a high ability to "put yourself in someone else's shoes" and pyrokinesis to someone who was more "fiery" (aggressive, impulsive). In my opinion, her demonic powers might be used to keep the story moving and to add one more struggle to Macy's storyline which is "what would a powerful being with a high intellect and a lot of self-control would do if given evil power?". We see Macy throughout season 1 trying to keep her demonic side in check while at the same time refusing to strip herself of the powers. Also in the last episode of Season 1, the Source is making her show her insecurities and she shouts to her sisters "you're trying to take away my power". This shows that she feels the need to be powerful and that her ambition is greater than might seem at first. When in season 2, she comes to the conclusion that her power resides in her good/witch nature, she asks Abigael to strip her power, showing a much more humble side to her. It is also true that she's the one sister who took more time to accept the power of three back, and its innate sacrifice, due to the fact that she's not sure if she wants to loose her sisters again or if she will loose herself in the sisterhood. However she ends up accepting it because she realizes that "they're stronger together" and that "nothing is stronger than their sisterhood", a speech that was never given to her as a child unlike Mel and Maggie. I could spend days talking about Macy as she's such a complex character and her powers are a very good metaphor, but I think I've said enough 😂

That is an interesting theory. As much as I didn't like Mel when the show started, she's definitely grown on me especially this season.

Yeah, a lot of people say it don’t relate to time, but I personally think it does cause I don’t know if many remember but she speeds up things like the growth of a plant. Idrk there could be more to it

It's not exactly about time as you think it is. It's about molecules. She can control molecules in every way possible. Such as stopping them through time, aging them, slowing them, vibrating them (Hence creating friction and making stuff heated or cold).

About that last part yeah. I think Maggie should do more with her telepathic, empathic powers, such as planting thoughts on other too or controling their mind. That would be so much cooler.

@@warrenchenon820 Yeah but that's not exactly possible. By freezing time, the earth would stop moving and we'd fall into space due to gravity. I think they mostly want to go with a science fiction route to make their powers seem more possible, so that's why she has the ability to manipulate molecules.

StephenHeart season 2 wasn’t that great to be honest. It was better pace wise than the first season which was really really rushed but season 2 was very directionless, dragged a lot of the story out, a lot of filler episodes, and the writing was inconsistent in certain parts.

I think people hate it, because they always compare it to OG Charmed. I mean, It would be predictable if the story of the reboot would be the same as OG Charmed, right? Even the OG Charmed had a lot of plot holes. They even hated when Paige came. They also hated when Billie & Christy came. Phoebe's powers etc. Now, the reboot 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Yes, they mentioned they want to get a little bit of the OG at the same time make a new version of Charmed. They also didnt want to use English spells, but mostly Spanish and in Latin. This is still Charmed Universe, I mean if they dont like it, then let them rewatch the OG. The OG had a classic vibe and the reboot is really for the newer gen.

Molecules in an accelerated state wouldn’t cause combustion like the original series portrayed. In thermodynamics, explosions are caused by the rapid release of energy in a small volume of space in a rapid amount of time. In molecular chemistry, explosions generally occur when compound violently break down and oxidise into gases. When this happens, molecular bonds break apart, and form new bonds creating gases, but not all of them. The leftover energy takes the form of extreme heat which propels the new gas particles at extreme speeds. If the gas particles surpass the speed of sound, this causes a sonic shockwave. This is why a lot of explosions go boom! This doesn’t happen by simply “speeding up,” the molecules of a subject. In order to explain piper’s power, which is always portrayed as a high intensity explosion, she should not only have had to manipulate the molecular state of something, but also have means to create specific compounds that react to one another violently enough to beak their own bonds. Just heating something up without a reactant wouldn’t cause a high intensity explosion.If that were the case, your electric kitchen stove would explode the area around it every time you turned it on. Just agitating the molecular state (accelerating the molecules) of an object would cause a fire, maybe. But not a chemical explosion. Also, “stopping,” molecules would have an impact on the thermodynamic integrity of a subject (it would likely freeze and lose heat). In the original series, molecular stasis was portrayed as causing subjects to freeze as if frozen in time. In reality, complete molecular stasis would also cause instant heat death. The subject would freeze to absolute zero. What is portrayed here is actually a better portrayal of “molecular,” manipulation than the original iteration of the power.

That’s horrible. If you give your characters too many powers the plot become useless because they can solve anything. There won’t be any good story to tell.

I mean they went damn near the whole season 2 without them..These suppose too be the strongest witches ever I feel like they shld be powerful and powered up..look at the old charmed ones only powerful one was prue nd then piper after she died nd I kno the eldest is the strongest but come on now they are the charmed they should each be equally strong not waiting on big sister too save there asses..thank god phobie took up martial arts

Jay solo it’s how the cw likes to drag something out for a whole season. Them not having their powers for so long made it so annoying to watch. They’re the charmed ones to fight evil and protect the innocent. These new girls are so caught up in their own personal mess that they can’t save anyone. Harry too.

Budi Prakoso they referenced Melinda Warren in the first season in the Book of Shadows as a “nod” to the original and in season 2 there was a little and I mean VERY little backstory on the Charmed Ones heritage but other than that the connection to the Halliwells is very loosely base to that universe or iteration.

I totally agree. The first part of the season was dark and nice, but it took too long too develop and it was so long before they got their powers back. Because of that people got tired and they changed it so much and had so many mini storylines that it got confusing. Action scenes, powers and that horrible command center with so much technology they all make me think of power rangers. So confusing.

Mink the new Power of Three kind of looks like the beast charge and they’ll probably introduce Zords in the next season along with Alpha and Zordon.

Moira Frankson Exactly. They’re always off doing their own thing. They’re so awkward as sisters too. It’s just terrible writing. I’m also mad that Maggie is always in tears every episode. The youngest sister is supposed to be very confident and fearless.
