English - Route 24 from North Balwyn in a C1 class tram during the weekday AM peak. Before it was discontinued, route 24 ran as a weekday peak service only. In the morning from North Balwyn to the Ciy via Victoria snd Latrobe Streets and in the opposite direction during the afternoon.
The service qas discontinued in July 2014 when a restructure of the Melbourne Tram Network took place.

I am enjoying these Schony747. I noticed at 24 min 30sec, you leave the stop, a car races to get in front only to stop to turn right holding you up. Very frustrating. As a bus driver in Sydney I feel your pain! Keep up the good work, got a lot more of your posts to watch yet!

Love these videos you put up reminds me of my time living in Melbourne, but there were only the W class trams then, l can't remember the other classes keep up the good work.

The W class had issues around the year 2000 and slowly disappeared. We have 12 on the City Circle.

Interesting to watch some vehicles making the 'Melbourne hook turn' to turn right at crossroad junctions in the central area. Thanks for catching some examples of this in the later part of the film.

Great video. Never get bored watching these. Also, how do you tell the differance between the trams? I only know the E1, E2 class, Seimens and Comengs.

Another good one! Although Melbourne looks more scenic when the trees are in full leaf, I get to see more detail here.

Hi mate love your work but may I offer a suggestion after watching US freights and how they tell u what is coming just before the train gets close they sub title bottom of screen what the locos are and their type and that fades away as the loco gets closer and even put the location in as well..Have a look at how MBmars01 does it .Keep up the good work .

I don't think I've ever seen A Class trams on route 11. I only remember seeing B and E. Must have not payed attention in the past.

A Class were used on the 112 and 11 before E class made an appearance at Preston. You would also see the odd appearance on the 86

+Peter Taylor From North Balwyn - High St through North Balwyn and Kew. At High St and Barkers Road Kew, the tram turns right and runs through Victoria St North Richmond crossing into the tree lined tracks of Victoria Pde East Mrlbourne and finally onto Latrobe St in the melbourne CBD.

24 when it operated ran via Victoria St North Richmond via 109 route then via Latrobe St route 30 to Spencer St.

How come they build the tram system like this? I think it would be much safer if the tram would go in the left lane the passangers wouldn't have to cross the street for entering it.

+DaneShady The tram system is based on the old cable car network from the 1880s and most extensions are extensions of the cable cars. It would be too expensive to change all track alignments let alone a change in traffic culture.

Yes, I can understand that. Though we have these kind of stops in Budapest as well, a few at least, but they are changing it to make it safer. But yeah, if the whole system is built like this then it will be a hefty bill to rebuidling it.

No. It just sits there and I just do my job. It's not obvious and I drive the same way without the camera.

It goes like this on a regular basis - go really fast past the tram, get in front then stop and do a turn blocking trams and traffic saving the car no time at all.

what an incompetent slow service. No priority to the trams. Drive the car.

+Foggen1231 Tram priority is very slow on some of our lines. It's not ideal but until attitudes change by local councils and Vicroads, neither will tram priority.
