Good fight, Ernie did a good account of himself, shame about the low blows though, whether intentional or not Taylor got lucky he only got one point deducted.
When Lou Duva was asked if a rematch with JC would ever take place and at what weight class would it take place... Lou right-away replied: "at 147"... Why Lou? why not at 140? and Meldrick went up to 147 only to find out that ... he would never be the same guy again.
Terry Norris ended Taylor’s career, not Chavez. People , especially Chavez fans, don’t realize that Taylor went 2 1/2 years before losing again and after moving up in weight to the larger, heavier Norris. Taylor won another title and beat two undefeated fighters AFTER the Chavez fight. So the imaginary love affair Chavez fans like to badge on themselves is simply not factual or substantiated. Taylor’s downfall was after Norris. He couldn’t find his footing again.
JC. Put a Deep Dent on Taylor's Career. But it was terrible Norris who Broke the wheels on Taylor's Facetime. 👹👽. Plus Master Pig Duva, was the real problem in the corner like on many boxers he got!!!
dont lie to yourself. yes terry took a lot out of taylor but already here he was beginning to talk like toney. this was before norris. thx god it wasnt 15 rounds or else taylor would have died and u know this
@Alonzo I disagree. How do you explain then, Taylor going 2 1/2 years without losing a fight after Chavez and winning another championship in another weight class, as well as beating 2 undefeated boxers. Meanwhile Chavez was lined up against nobodies and tomato cans.
@@markymarcb4932 so ur telling me that Aaron Davis is better than a HOF like Camacho who Chavez fought during those two years. Ernie Chavez, Aaron Davis, Luis Garcia and Glenwood Brown are also cans. At least Chavez fought a HOF during that time and won while Taylor got another real challenge in Norris and lost.
@Alonso Look at their records after Taylor I…Chavez fought a string of bums only really beating Camacho but he lost the public opinion with the Whitaker fight. Taylor went undefeated for another 2 1/2 years and won another title…while Chávez was fighting guys like Addo (4-3) and Mosley (4-3-1) and Ahn who was a complete tomato can. Just look at their records, they don’t lie. Chavez fought quantity, Taylor fought quality that’s why his career ended so suddenly .
