Melting Copper Wire at Home - Making Copper Art Skulls
In this video, I'll be melting some scrap copper wire into some Copper RFT Skeletons and an RFT Copper Bar, using my Devil Forge Furnace or Foundry!
I am still an amateur when it comes to pouring and stamping as I only get a little practice every other week BUT I love trying my best and it's always a lot of fun.
I will also experiment with some different sanding, polishing and finishing techniques to try and create some cool copper art pieces.
Hopefully, you all enjoy this pour video!
🔴Warning - smelting copper or any metals is dangerous. Please be sure to take safety precautions and research the process before you ever attempt it.

Drop an indian head in the back after the pour before the copper solidifies. Heat it up a lil before you drop it into the molten

Rob, what do you think about using acetone to clean coins and remove impurities? Does it remove value from coins?

@@RobFindsTreasure - would you be so kind as to tell me where you got your skull ingot mold? I have 2 different ones but they look cheesy compared to yours. I'd like to make some using using bronze but I can't seem to find any tin.

This makes the moon bar I purchased even better. Stamped RFT and seeing the pour. I've made my own forge, but will be getting a Devil Forge. (Big Stack D inspired), Plus I've been scrapping copper for 35-40 years. Love copper. My new paperweight. Thanks Rob

I like the pours! It's something I've gotten into over the past 6 months. I am working with sand to try to get unique pours. My nemesis is an American flag bar. I found a soap mold that I poured plaster into to make the shape in the sand. I have to mix a little aluminum into the copper to get it to pour smooth.
