A cherry pie filling layer would be fantastic in the middle.

Awesome dessert for any occasion. I can have my youngest grand daughter do this and get super creative. EVERy Christmas our family members pairs up for our annual dessert competitin. You could make individual trifle cups for guests. That's nice too. Always prettiest to have clear bowl to see the layers.

I made this once before with a couple of variations. On the 2nd/ layer of pudding, you mixed the instant pudding powder with the Coolwhip. This makes an incredible texture that's lite and fluffy but more dense that Coolwhip by itself. It was then topped with cherry pie filling! Because of this recipe, I've been mixing instant vanilla pudding powder with Coolwhip for toppings to make it special!

Here is a trifle I make during the fall. Use a spice cake, mix pumpkin pie filling with vanilla pudding and layer it just like you did MeMe. And then I sprinkle some pumpkin pie spice on top.

A layer of broyen Oreos would b good

Sprinkle layers of chopped Heath Bars, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, or your favorite candy bar for a delicious texture and flavor.
