I love it! Thank you for sharing. From a young mum in Ireland 😊and my hubby is from Charleston! The Lord brought us together in Israel in 2019. God has been so good to us ever since. Sending our greetings to you
I honestly don’t know why but my Guinea pig Gatsby absolutely loves watching your videos with me! He actually purrs and sighs when he hears you talk! I personally love the way you explain each and every step of the recipes and I’ve actually posted several of these to my followers . I told them this is how great southern women cook! I can’t wait to try this out.
I love watching you make all your different recipes. This evening you were making a special corn bread. When you showed the recipe written on a scrape of paper, I started to cry. It reminded me of my mom. She did the same thing, writing on any scrap paper. She passed away in 2013 at 85 yrs old. I miss her so much. Thank you for sharing your special recipes. Best wishes, JoAnn D Salt Lake City, Utah
I love listening to you - and you are such a good role model for younger moms who have never learned to cook properly because you use low-cost ingredients and don't have all kinds of really fancy kitchen appliances. People can save SO MUCH money if they will just cook at home! SO FUNNY about the can opener!
Ms MeMe I have next week ready with your recipes. Making one this dish..your zucchini sausage bake, your hamburger casserole and so on,😂 Your a angel… have a very blessed rest of the week.
That is an absoltely perfect meal for a cool, rainy day! We've had the same type of weather in my area, and I would be happy if it stayed like that for the rest of Summer! Thank You for the recipes! 🙂
Wow Miss MeMe that corn bread looks mighty tasty. I am going to have to try your recipe with the sour cream in it. I’ve made it with the cream corn in it but never with the sour cream, so I’m anxious to try that and I’ve been thinking about making some cornbread muffins lately, so this recipe is right up my alley, I think in my recipe I would reduce some of the cream of corn and put a can of mild chopped green chilies. I make a cabbage and sausage dish very similar to yours. Everything looks absolutely delicious as always. You are such a great cook and your family is blessed to have you know I’m going to head over and watch those sausage ball recipes. I’m interested in that God bless you.❤
Love this. I make this all the time, but not with the tomatoes - so that is new to me. I generally put in cubed potatoes, but that would take a bit longer to cook. I also always add a tablespoon of sugar every time I cook with either tomatoes or cabbage - it cuts the acid and bitterness without making the dish sweet.
I make this often though I put the onions, sausage and cabbage in the pan to cook together. I love adding diced tomatoes to dishes, but had not thought of it here and I’m definitely going to add them next time!
Diane, I enjoy your cooking so much. I'm the same kind of cook. Good, easy food. I received your cookbook today & I'm already enjoying the wonderful recipes. I'm so happy I found you.
Thank you for your videos. You are an inspiration! I love getting ideas from you as I have started making Friday night dinners for my kids and grandchildren. After a week's work they appreciate not having to worry about dinner on Friday. I have a wide variety of eaters -- only one a little bit on the picky side. Love your ideas!
I made this today and it’s delicious! I added some organic California style veggie burgers, balsamic vinegar, a glaze of Dijon mustard and a hint of lemon lime on garlic rice. Thank you aunt MeMe! You’re awesome!
Thank you for your wonderful recipes. I have made your cabbage casserole and your chicken & dressing casserole. They are outstanding! My family loves them both!
Hello there MeMe. You are so amazing at your wonderful cooking. Everything looks so delicious 😋 it makes my mouth water every time I see you cook. And that beautiful smile 😊 you have always makes my day. To God be the glory for the things he has done 👍✅ Amen
I cannot believe that I have laid out on my counter my sausage to thaw my cabbage is already cut up and my onions and ready to make this dish! I live in Alabama, so we do cook very similar. I am the one that makes my potato salad exactly like you do.! I have just found you under recommendation from another lady that I know and I am so thankful and I love your southern accent!
You should see some of the “scratch” paper that I have used! I now have several notebooks to write my recipes in! Glad to see that you aren’t scared to use a stick or 2 of butter, bacon, onion, and butter makes everything Better!😊❤
Cabbage "fried" like that, with the butter, with some salt, pepper and a hint of garlic powder...is divine as well. I really like Cabbage and sausage and would not have thought about adding a can of tomatoes, but I am going to have to try this 😊
Hi MeMe! Just made this recipe and it was easy and delicious! I did add some cayenne pepper for a little kick. Also served it with cornbread. Good stuff!
WE love fried cabbage and cook it in bacon grease with onions and bacon. Add the butter at the end. Usually make the sausage separate and use the fried cabbage as a side dish. I gave my older daughter your recipe cookbook last weekend with a few others that I always use I picked up on Ebay. New York Times , McCalls, Betty Crocker, And a couple of old Hungarian cookbooks I have and was able to find , from 1961 and 1982 , Church Rectory Ladies recipes. Love your videos
This is how I cook cabbage with the same sausage ,but I don’t like cabbage cooked until it is mushy. And we got to have corn bread. Yummy. God bless you, ❤
I made your hamburger casserole yesterday and it was amazing. I am 62 and raising her since she was a baby. She did her happy dance when she tasted it. I bought decorative boxes to put important stuff when I pass on and she said Mama will you put the recipe in my boxes so I will always have it.
I have found that the two things that make manual can openers work best are these: before applying the can opener to the can, it works best if you tear the paper wrap from the top of the can, Next, allow the opener to do the work of piercing the can, no need to strangle the handle, just let it do it's job. it's been working for me for more decades than I want to admit. Keep on Cookin'
I plan to make a cabbage and sausage mix up this weekend. I’ve never added tomatoes. I typically do onions and garlic with mine. I have some cheese pierogi to serve with it.
Hello MeMe. I just found your channel. I love when you say “Shine for Jesus!” It is interesting that your sister said she can’t believe you still use a manual can opener because I was thinking the same thing and that you are very strong. My Mom has mot been able to use one in years. She is 80 now. Keep shining for Jesus! P.S. Getting your cookbook soon.
I make something similar to this except I put in a few cups of water or broth and then add in rice so that takes up a lot of the water. And the rice gets the flavor of all of it.
Goodniss Honey. You exude the South. Please tell me where you were Born. I'm from Hilton Head Island, Beaufort County SC. Ur recipes take me back. Whew! Precious Angel! Thank You So Much! You remind me of Miss Phyllis whom I was Good Friends With. Bless it!
