Menlo Georgia Photography Walk with my Leica SL2 Camera and the Nikon 55mm f3.5 Micro Nikkor Lens! 

Very interesting to see these small towns and how nature seems to reclaim civilization. I always wonder what lost civilizations we are standing on top of.

♥Thank you, sir ♥ 🙂Nice video! It's an easy on the eye, smooth style of content and narrative to follow, I think you do a "swell" job, thanks for all the effort you put into it ! The manual Nikon 55mm came in 2 versions; 2.8 and 3.5. Some photographers say that only the very first 3.5 version from 1963 was better for macro but all 3.5 versions have the same optical formula (5 elements in 4 groups) . Nikon made a LOT of these 3.5's ; around 500.000... My hat off to Nikon who made this now 60 year old 55mm lens that still perform so well today... The 2.8 had floating lens elements inside ("CRC"; the rear lens moves separately) to improve equally for macro or distant scenes but the 3.5 does quite well too. The 60mm 2.8 AF-D and AF-S are very different animals all together. Maybe a little bit sharper but not that much better. I still use the AF 200mm 4.0 Micro lens today, only for macro, it is now 30 years old and still one of the best macro lenses ever made. Have a nice weekend, best regards, Peter

Thanks, David! I like the idea of have mild macro capabilities in your walk around lens. I think the current canon lenses must be at least 0.5 to 1 in order to get the macro tag on them. Meanwhile, their main macro lens is 1.4 to 1 which is kind of overkill unless you are doing serious macro. I enjoyed this video.

Wow, was someone in town worried about what you were doing? I have that lens too. Might take it out to photograph cicadas next week.

So I just finished with my computer upgrades this week and will be trying the Nikon F mount IRIX 150mm Macro with an adapter on my Leica SL2S. But I chose this was just in case a reptile, animal or human will not interfere too much while shooting. 😉

I'm getting into leather working and can't help eyeballing the strap...hey it's camera related 📷. No, but seriously where'd you get it? Always cool seeing one of your vids David...Thanks

David I guess I need to take out my 55mm2.8 manuel focus lens they are having a Chile Cook off tomorrow in down town Tustin it would be a good time to take out the small lens and take some pictures of all the booths and people

Hi, that's the latest Ai version of that lens. There are so many pre-Ai variants, all of them good. Many were factory Ai'd, and others done manually.
