Well no crap, it was, and still is the fastest 100m race ever.... So even though Tyson ran a perfect race, he still got crapped on cause Usain is built different.
So humble no over the top bravado. Just executed his race and let the time do the talking for him. This never gets old to watch, repeatedly. Can never watch it just once. This man his a legend!
Just pause the video at 5:51. Tyson Gay run 9.71 and came a long way back. I'm watching this in 2023 and days ago Noah Lyles run 9.84 and won. That's Asafa's time, way back on third place. UNREAL!
So underappreciated and overshadowed. Powell is one of the fastest men who has ever walked the Earth. Imagine telling someone in the 1990s that one day a man would run a 9.84 100m and finish a distant third 😅😳
Michael Johnson, who saw Usain take his 200m world record, said after that the person who will lower the record time hasn't been born yet. I'd wager the same about the 100m too.
No one I say will ever beat 9.58 for 100M and people say because he kinda slows down towards the end maybe he could have got 9.55 or lower but I don’t think it will ever be broken bolt is forever gonna be the number 1 sprinter in the entire world he deserves the title sprint king
Imagine having Gay’s talent running sub 9.8 pretty consistently and still not fast enough. Had to be a bit demoralizing to be in the same generation as Bolt 😬. Still Tyson is one of the best ever!
Powell was 0.03 seconds faster than the record he set two years before but was beaten by 0.13. That is how astonishing Bolt was. If the fastest times run were a race, Bolt wins gold, silver and ties for the bronze with Tyson Gay and Yohan Blake.
Tyson should get his props all day. He would have won gold many times if Usain had not been around. Great era in spinting. It seemed as though almost anything was possible.
T. Gay has always ran better When he’s in ‘chase mode’. He was The last one to get into the ‘set’ position… and the last to react to the gun. DeepSigh + Once you’ve let a 6’5 frame get away frm U …odds are You aren’t closing that gap (stride for stride)
(1) Get a 19 year old Marcus Dupree (2) Give him 4 months of 100m sprint training (3) Put some modern sprinting spiked shoes on him (4) Put him on a modern Olympic track for a 100m race (5) Fire the gun Given his natural stride length is already longer than 2.5m (Usain Bolt in his prime was 2.4m). What time would have Marcus run ? 9.4s pretty easy Now load him up with modern PEDs as well. What time now ? 9.25s Marcus Dupree is clearly the human that had the greatest potential in the 100m sprint. Hands down. Bo Jackson probably second. A fully sprint trained Bo would probably beat Marcus over 60m but no way 100m.
EN ALGUN MOMENTO LLEGARA ALGUIEN Y LO ROMPERA, CUANDO ?, NO SE, LOS RECORD SE HICIERON PARA ROMPERLO, QUIZAS NO ESTEMOS EN ESE MOMENTO, PERO DE QUE LO TIRAN ABAJO , LO TIRAN, OJALA DIOS TE DE VIDA , PARA QUE TU MISMO LO VEA, LOS TIEMPO CAMBIA A MEDIDA QUE PASA LA VIDA,VY LA TECNOLOGIA TAMBIEN, QUE NO SE TE OLVIDE OYO
En ALGUN MOMENTO ATRAS, LLEGASTE A PENSAR, QUE IBAN A BAJAR DE LOS 10 SEGUNDO LOS 100 METRO, NO VERDAD, BUENO YO TAMPOCO, Y MIRA AHORA A BOLT HACIENDO AÑICO O POLVO ESE IMPOSIBLE, ASI SERA MAS ADELANTE , ESE 9:58
