Her tips are still accurate. She advises to angle up when removing it, and over the toilet doing so allows the disc to come out flat like a drawer instead of tipped so less or no blood will get all over your hands.
I’m so confused by this bc if the vaginal canal SOOO drastically changed angles when laying down then one would think she would state so in this video? I’d trust this woman with my vaginal advice lol
I'm a guy with literally like no need to know any of this stuff, but I am just endlessly intrigued by your videos, there is so much stuff to learn. It also makes me wonder how to design a better menstruation device.
I think its a good idea for guys to know this stuff. I heard many stories of single dads unable to help their daughters with puberty or male teachers not letting their students go to the washroom on their period. Men will always have to interact with women and people who menstrate, its good to know how periods work to help someone who needs help.
As some have already said about the angle. I relieze the prop can't be held up on its own but a demonstration with the prop body being up right like when sitting on a toilet would be possibly more helpful Especially for new cup users and/or younger ladies just getting their periods
I have been wearing cups/discs for years. My very first cup became stuck and I couldn’t remove it after 12 hours of trying. It was awful and I ended up going to the dr. I learned that I have a high cervix and short fingers. I started using cups with a loop and have been fine for almost 5 years. I’m currently trying not to have a panic attack because I cannot get my hello disc out. I must have accidentally tucked the loop in when inserting it. I can just barely reach the rim of the disc with my middle finger. Bearing down has not moved it at all. I can only get my fiber on the outside of the rim and can’t get ahold of it. Has anyone had this happen?
@@user-ht3wq7nm2d I literally just got done having my period and now you got me wanting to try it for next month's! I work in different houses and I hate using my client's bathroom even if it's just to go pee LOL so I definitely don't like using it when it's that time of the month so having a disc for cup would definitely make it so I can just work all day without having to stop
I have a high cervix too 😭 I tried removing my new cup for hours crying until my bf helped me since he has longer fingers and it saved me the trip to hospital. I've been curious with disc but I think its not meant for us 🙂
If you haven’t used it yet, try not to worry! Removal will go perfectly fine! Try to stay relaxed and don’t panic if it takes a couple tries to remove it. Most cups can be worn up to 12 hours, so if it’s your first time removing and you’re anxious about the time frame, try removing a little earlier than that. Discs can shift higher when you’re sleeping, for example, so don’t worry if it feels like it’s moved higher when you go to remove it. That’s normal.
I bought it too! I haven't gone back to tampons since😄It is daunting at first like all cups/discs. Just make sure when you push it in to use a little lube or the residue period blood. When pushing it inside, make sure the front of disc is tucked behind the pelvic bone and the back of the disc is behind your uterus opening. You can feel it yourself with your fingers beforehand to see where it all is. You got this! Best of luck fellow disc wearer😁
I'm really scared of inserting any anything.. Just because of this problem I had never used tampons or cups... But I'm just a teenager it's been only 3 years since I got my first period In future I will definitely try but for now i just can't🙂
That’s completely fine! I’ve had my period for 3 years too and I’ve tried tampons, cups, and discs. I found that discs work best for me but do what you’re comfortable with!!
Start at your own pace! I spent 6 years using disposable pads exclusively until I took the leap of faith and tried reusables. I started with cloth pads 3 years ago. Then started trying cups 1 year ago and have found my Goldilocks cup. Now I’m looking for my favorite disc. The best thing for me is that I still use the other options depending how I feel that month. It’ll be a good journey because you have all the knowledge you need here. Enjoy the process!
Use what your most comfortable with, I used tampons during one of my first periods because I was going to a water park for a friend's birthday in the middle of my cycle, but I also wasn't overly concerned about using one. I didn't have any problems so try not to let yourself get to stressed out about it
The hard part isn’t the pulling out, it’s the getting in or back in after. 😅 I struggle immensely with ways to put it back in. It’s messy, it’s complicated. It’s frustrating.
I dont take it out all the way in public. Once it's out alll the way I usually have to lay down to put it back in properly. I just untuck the lip of the disc thats tucked under my pubic bone, bear down to expel the contents, and tuck it back in. Usually works pretty well.
I never really had a problem....when I'm learning a new product...I'll try ro insert and remove in the shower....but when I'm not doing that....I'm on the toilet and when I wash my cup or disc.....I just wash my hands ...idk Don't be weirded out. We are goddesses my friends.
Can you use a disk like a cup? How do I know it’s near my cervix. When I use my cup I just put her up there and make sure I can’t feel it and can grab for removal!
Thanks to your videos I started using disc's and I LOVE THEM! I was not a fan of the cups.... butttt I'm having an issue with messes. When you start and put a disc in how do you clean up the excess on the inside, where it doesn't make a mess on your panties, when there is no time for a shower? I clean up with baby wipes, but it definitely doesn't get it all.
I am using menstrual disc now, wnated to switch from cup to disc since it is less hassle but I don’t figure yet how, It doesn’t leaked but my problem is while peeing it start to drip, so I just take it out again and insert it again. I don’t know what’s the problem.
How often do you empty these things….id hate to be at work and have to dump this thing…run to the public bathroom sink..wash it go back to the stall and stick it back in…so much I need to know😊
Y’all really worried about getting a little blood on your hands😂. I have endometriosis and fibroids so I bleed so heavy that I have anemia because of it. So these cups would not be good for me😅 anyways make sure you wash your hands before and after pulling them out
I was just wondering is it safe to wear a disc or cup when doing gymnastics cuz I luv gymnastics and I just started periods I think and I am terrified of tampons. Not so much discs and cups they don’t have a string that can snap lol
Yes it’s safe to wear them doing gymnastics. They might shift a little higher depending on how you’re moving but they can’t get lost in there and they won’t hurt you. If they shift, just “push” like you would when you’re using the bathroom, hold the push, and reach for the disc. It should move down so you can hook it with a finger and remove it. If it takes a couple tries, don’t panic. Staying relaxed makes removal a lot easier.
How did it work out? I wear a disc only at night because I'm terrified of it letting go at work. I'm a tampon girl for life, shove it in and forget it for 6 hours. No way I'd personally risk a massacre at gymnastics but that's just me!
I think that with the cup it can also be a little messy or stain your fingers when you break the vacuum, especially if you don't want to pull it all the way down before breaking the vacuum because you feel like it's pulling everything inside of you. Someone else happens? (I haven't tried the disk)
Auto dump? Does it mean I can auto dump in the pool just like that if I use my muscle? What is the point of this disc if it gets so messy out of blue? 😅
Hi I was hopeful that this is the right place for my questions lol. I have recently had my second period after the birth of my son. He's nearly 5m. He's my second child. After my first I went up a size for my menstrual cup. I don't recall leakage while I slept. I tried the same cup for my first period last month. It wouldn't sit right, basically it was slipping out. Used pads and ordered a bigger size. But had major leaking with it last night. I emptied before bed. Now I understand that periods are irregular at this time, but will it become less heavy in time? I have been using a cup for about 10 years. I like my cups lol but I have to admit I still don't feel like this one fits great. I feel like my stick to pull it out is poking my inner lower front wall. Will my vagina shrink anymore or do I need a bigger cup or perhaps I should try a disc? Sorry this is long. But I could really do with some advice. Oh not sure if it helps but both births ended up being c section after dilating fully but unsuccessful for natural.
Congratulations on your baby! You may want to try a firmer cup. In my experience with having children my period did go back to normal, and after my second child actually got shorter. But, of course everyone is different. I’d recommend researching which cups are the firmest and order one in the larger size option. It seems you are quite experienced with cups, so I may be telling you things you already know 😂 Hopefully you can get back to using them effectively 😊
@@arareanddifferenttune3130 I still appreciate the advice. I'm currently about to take the test on it as Flo is back in town 😭. This new cup I have if funnily enough a little firmer and .... I don't know, it just doesn't feel right. I'm still leaking slightly. So it's definitely not a good fit. And it basically sticks out. Like it's too long. So I'm going to have to try another. I'm leaning towards a disc 😬.
@@marym9150 I have yet to try a disc myself! But cups can certainly be a bit uncomfortable. I’m not sure if I’ll make the jump 😅 I hope you find something that works for you dear 😊
If you do there are 4 total ways to wear it. I wear mine with it "flipped" and can't feel it at all. Wearing it "tucked" means it's entirely under the basket and shouldn't be felt. One loop can be trimmed off as well if needed
It seems so messy.... Using this types of cup we will mess up floor basin or anything.... But we dnt have to go in touchable of blood if we used Pad..... Coz after used we cover it & through to the dustbin...its better we also dnt have to wash pad like washing cup.....I think this types of cup is not ok for women or girl....& this may hurt inside or valley....Better to use pad....
Oh good, the Diva Disc is black. I hate how stained and gross brightly colored menstrual cups look after a few periods, so black is the new pink for me
@@__dash__23 thisss 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽why would I want to stick with pads if I have to change them every two hours or less and can’t sleep through the night when I have something wonderful like the hello disc? 🙃
Is this safe? Having to pull like that? What about vaginal prolapse? Some belgium websites say the menstruation cup can cause this. This disc looks to have an even higher chance of doing this??
Some things just aren't meant for unsolicited mass media distribution. How to hygenically manage menstrual cycle bleeding would top that list in my opinion. 😕
And how exactly do you think people are going to learn? Not from prudish parents too ashamed to talk about periods with their kids, and not from schools that barely scratch the surface of period education.
@@PeriodNirvana The same way most people learn anything else...do your own personal research. Not depend upon unsolicited social media posts to pop up randomly on RU-vid!
Because if you have a heavy period, like me, this thing is a lifesaver. Saves me time, embarrassment, and money. I used to have to sleep in one position at night and not move or risk leaking all over my sheets. I would also have to change a pad at least every two hours. This thing has changed my life.
@@belindaperez550 oh gosh, it was absolutely the same for me! If I wanted to get some sleep I had to use the maxi tampon + jumbo pad + period pants combo...
Yuck? You know what’s “yuck?” Having such a heavy period that you soak through pads in two hours or less. This product has saved my life after having kids. I used to not be able to even sleep through the night or I would leak all over my bed. Could only sleep in one position and lay still. I can go a full 12 hours with this thing even on my heavy days, where it’ll dump on its own when I use the restroom, if it’s full. Don’t shame something that you have no idea about. It is saving a lot of people embarrassment, time, and money.
Fuck off. Women have to deal with their periods every month and it sucks! I would much rather use this which is, safer, more comfortable, better for the environment, and much less money. If you can’t “handle” Womens menstruation then what can you handle because it’s completely natural.
