M550d isn’t even and m car they only snap m badges everywhere but it has nothing to do with bmws Motorsport division. M5 v8 is another story and yes should’ve been RS too

That tripple turbo diesel has been around for a while now...what 2 or 3 years??? Always loved this design, 740Nm is not bad for a 6 cylinder diesel. I will stick with my modified 2008 Q7 4.2 TDi. When the 2012 V12 6 litre diesel drops to $50K, that will be the time to pick it up and modify it...not too many beat that honey of a diesel engine
I'm a BMW fan.. Love BMW's to bits! but hats off to Mercades presentation... If i Was to pick a supplier for an engine based on these 3 videos Mercades would be the one I was writing my cheque too
The truth of the matter is that BMW took the most risks out of all of these companies. This is why enthusiasts like it. They went balls to the walls and adapted an F1 engine into their M5, they made a very good inline 6 engine, they made motorcycles, they made v12,v10,v8, inline 6 and inline 4 engines they developed a lot of shit from scratch and took larger business risks which did pay off in the end. AMG on the other hand kind of stuck up with their V8 because it was a good design originally and just kept on improving on it, they also made that V12 they put into the pagani, and bmw made the v12 that got put into the McLaren F1.. yes that's right the legendary McLaren F1. Typically the problem with BMW is that they go out of their way (unnecessarily might I say) to over engineer something, so that then it becomes susceptible to failure. A good example is their Double Vanos in their V10 M5 and the tight clearances they went for.. just to squeeze performance and to over engineer things for power delivery etc. Did it bring a bad ass car to the table ? Yes it did. Was it reliable? Hell no. I mainly go with BMW for the experience as well as the way their cars feel and drive as well as looks. I typically do not perfer mercedes as it reminds me of a car my grandparents would want to drive. And Audi i usually just see a glorified VW in Audi skin.. and the design is not too appealing to me.
We are taking about global sales and not just sales in North America. Plus if you are selling more cars, it doesn’t mean your product is more desirable. It means your product is more popular. And one of the reasons why merc is selling more C class is because they are made in South Africa so they can be sold cheaper.
Try to employ permanent magnet motor , slip ring induction motor the doubly fed, brushless DC motor and repulsion motor and other special electrical machines it gives excellent torque speed comparing two internal combustion engine
AMG, Brabus, Lorinser 1-4 turbo intercooler petrol engines : easy damage, 20-100 l/100km, over 100 l/100km. The age of street racers styles rule AE department.
Why did they use a Amg gtr engine which uses amg's top engine to compare to an s5 and a m550i . Shouldn't we be using the r8's engine, and the m6, or m4gts, ?
@@v12ish40 What? Show me a 500hp 3.0L engine from MB ... It's most likely the most advanced of them all ( with it's water injection system, only other car with this is Porsche GT2RS ). Highest GT-(C/S/R) engine is 577hp from a 4.0L (144hp/L) vs 167hp/L for the M4 GTS.
goguhu have you not seen the 2l 4cylinder from mercedes making 400 hp. Anyways why does making so much power per liter matter anyways. Just stresses the components even more causing them to be less reliable.
Lets make this clear bmw made the engine for mclaren f1 which was the fastest car for one decade also bmw has lower hp than merc and audi and still they outperformed them in past decades now audi needs quattro and more hp to win in straight line with more hp and merc 6.2 engine with 4 matic yet a rwd bmw in same class can keep up with them and beat them on track except m5 or m5 comp which is 4wd and wipes out competition cheers
Emission-free transportation technologies have been available for mass production for over 25 years, but without the needed infrastructure. Cars - affordable for the general public - with engines of about 1 litre fuel consumption, or cars with real water-using engines have been ready for production for over 2 decades now. These high-tech prototypes were successfully tested in countries like Canada, USA, Australia, Norway, England, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Germany, Poland, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Israel, China, India, South Korea and Japan. We should already be manufacturing 35-40 million emission-free vehicles annually, and H2O engine systems should have been producing energy instead of our fossil-based and nuclear power plants. Entire technological documentations of such technologies have vanished in the EU`s Institute for Innovation and Technology, and, according to the legislation in order, it is right to be so. The expense involved in the production of such technologies is half of that of the traditional engines, they weigh about 70% less, and they can provide a huge torque. Their working range can be several thousand miles, cars could weigh 200 kg less, and their price could be 3-4000 Euros less. Segments of nearly the entire car industry secretly have the prototypes and successful tests. At the present moment we are poisoning our environment just out of mere arrogance and greed. We live in a cheap and indecent world. I firmly claim that we simply shouldn`t lie to 7 billion people, and this is only the tip of the iceberg. This information is entirely true and I hold myself accountable for its validity. Sincerely, Istvan Gazso, inventor
HaZeM ZooMa Alfa was once good now they suck. They drink engine oil and call a 1.3L renault a sportscars just because it looks good and doesnt a servo steering.
Comparing german cars with shitty Italian quality car omg. Fiat quality is bad (my mother has the last one), my oncle has the Maserati grand turismo the interior is a mess but the sound of the "Ferrari engine" is nice. Sorry but german cars > Italian cars :)
ALFA ROMEO GIULIA, 8C, GTV, 75 MASERATI BITURBO, GRANTURISMO, QUATTROPORTE FERRARI ENZO, 599 GTO LANCIA DELTA HF, STRATOS, 037, S4 I THINK RATHER THAT THE BEST CARS COME FROM ITALY. Ferrari has the most world titles in the F1. LANCIA DOMINATED FOR 30 YEARS IN THE RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP. AND ALFA WON MANY TITLES IN THE GERMAN DTM AGAINST MERCEDES BMW AUDI..
joey stogellager Germany nr1 in the EU? 😂 Germany has 82mln people Italy only 60 I think a bigger country should be stronger or not? Italy is member of G7 the most important nations in the world, not bad for a small country.
Thoses company been making engine for air plane for along time.. car is pricy- if cant sell they go work on air plane engine... SMART.. MORE EXPERIENCE THE ANY OTHER COMPANY OUT THERE..
If BMW used engine seals and gaskets half as good as Kia/Hyundai then they would have great engines. Oil leakage issues at less than 100 k miles at the high failure rates they have is disgraceful.
BMW engines usually makes the most power, Audi engines usually have the most advanced technology and Mercedes usually have the smoothest/quietest powertrain. However BMW M, quattro-GmBH (Audi RS) and Mercedes-AMG engines not withstanding.
Performance from Audi is great but, Sadly the only Audi engine that is reliable is the 2.5 straight 5. I love audi’s but the reliability is bad on most Audi’s... Amg has the best engine reliability.
Germany makes some high end cars, but it's the reliability issue that I dont like, and for that reason i buy Japanese :) I just read a legit consumer report of 20 of the most reliable cars of the decade. All 20 were from Japan... I'd love to buy german if they were as reliable
You talking BS bro, if you maintain well the MERC , and give what it needs, than you don't have issues, and I am saying this from experience. I got a C250 estate cdi (2012) 204Hp 500Nm and doing average 40mpg, it's an awesome car, you can not even compare to other brands. Interestingly I never saw in my life a Merc on the hard shoulder, why is that? Japan cars are more reliable is a myth, by people without taste and money to drive a masterpiece.
Mercedes wins by far. They have not compromised like BMW or Audi by too much low end parts to save weight and have not used excessive parts to smuther its engines like its rivals with there puny engines. Mercedes havnt wasted time with smaller Turbos but rather added two larger turbos to there performance car that wont blow up after 10 miles or break and end up replacing the engine like most newer BMWs and instead added more torque for low end travel to there cars. Keep it simple yet effective to gain power!!!
Puny engine? BMW is 4.4L MB is 4.0L ... 4 < 4.4 (so the MB is Puny), Audi is also 4.0, so more proper would be similar sized. Both BMW and MB uses twin-scroll turbos, so you're wrong there as well. MERCEDES-BENZ/AMG FACES LAWSUIT FOR POSSIBLE DEFECT IN 6.2L, M156 ENGINE - seems like you are 3 for 3 ... BMW's engine issue was related to the deep discharge of the batteries, not the engine itself ( in an effort to improve fuel mileage the batteries got too much discharge for people mainly driving in stop-and-go traffic (AKA in US rush hours). If anything the engines are more similar now than ever ... The V10 BMW did have a lot of issues (but best sounding engine in a production car ever), and at that point MB used a larger displacement V8 (so different engines ... low-displacement/high rpm V10 vs large(r)-displacement/low(er) rpm V8. Now they are BOTH V8, Twin-Scroll, Hot-V, 4/4.4L engines. I will however agree that the MB engine sounds beefier, but that has to do with insulation/exhaust (BMW have not gone that route ... yet), might be due to db limitations on tracks, so they want to keep their engines below 90-95db levels.
Boy oh boy... Why show the amg advertisement, but write Mercedes in the title... Amg is not the same as Mercedes and only delivers the motors for their high end models...
