I just discovered your videos. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I just got at EQS SUV 450 for a month and still discovering its features. Loving it so far 👍
You might also notice the icons next to the maximum posssible charging speed in the EQ screen. The one with the battery and thermometer is telling you your charging speed is limited because the battery is cold. The battery next to that is telling you charging speed is limited because your state of charge is high. Navigating to the charger helps with the temperature. You will also want to be pretty low charge, under 20% or so, to see optimum charging speed. I also noticed you have ECO Charge enabled in the video. In addition to capping charge level at 80%, that also limits the charging rate you will get at DC fast chargers like EA.
Liheng, the problem came back while on my trip to Florida. I did the restart steps I've read about with no luck. What steps have you used to restart yours. I'll film doing them and post a video if it works.
@@EQS-Owner the best and most effective system reboot is when you encounter system malfunction issues such as sensor malfunction or ambient light malfunction, simply drive to a safe place, stop your car, put it in parking mode, and turn off your car with the lock button on your remote car key. Wait for five seconds or so, restart your car. Let me know if it works out.
@@LihengSun tried this and a couple other methods with no success - it's worked before when I had temporary ambient light issues, but not this time. I'll see if the dealership has a recommendation for at home restarts. Thanks
Hi, thank you for the update. Can you check please if the extra option you have for your noise cancelling windows, a feature you didn't had on the 450, is called SA-596?
I've been up to 100 mph once (I was going 75 mph and two cars flew by me. Knowing I could catch them quickly, I accelerated to 100 and then slowed back down - they were going 90 mph). The car felt no different at 100 than it did at 50. BTW, I rarely hi more than 5 mph over the speed limit.
EQS 580 owner here. Does anyone know how to set strong recuperation (one pedal driving) in driver profile? How about eliminating pressing on/off button to go into Drive. Or eliminate off when leaving vehicle and get walk-away lock. If not, MB needs a software update. My other EV, a Tesla, does this very nicely.
Nope, can't do either right now. That said, clicking the paddle takes half a second - and I find myself going between Normal and Strong Recuperation a lot when approaching stop lights to get the smoothest stop. As for turning off the car... yeah, that'll require an update.
@@MichaelDizon1 I'll have to try it more often, almost any time I've used it, it felt like it just was in no recuperation mode - although I tried it the other day and did sense it slowing with a car in front of me.
@@MichaelDizon1 I didn’t know that was available so will try it. Not pressing brake pedal, except for emergencies, relieves driving fatigue. It also delivers more range. My highest is 459 mi in comfort mode.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Mine has been completely different. I have only had one problem - faulty sensor - and my dealer fixed it right away.
@@EQS-Owner I had 2 issues. One required a software update and this DC rate of charge that two different service departments cannot diagnose. 😔. But I’m going to continue to view your page.
yeah, I am sorry you are having problems. I hear from other owners in the Facebook groups that some people are are having issues - especially with the earliest models 😢
It is not that they cannot, but that they don’t have the software locally yet. They connect it up, then have the diagnosis done in Germany overnight. Mercedes is tracking all issues from the field very closely, so they want to see everything that is showing up at dealerships.
@@pondking2801 I’m at another dealership service department. This service department had a technician sit with me in the car while I demonstrated my issues with DC charging. He agreed that the car wasn’t operating normally and the service manager opened a ticket (my words) with corporate. It’s been 3 weeks and they haven’t figured it out yet. PS, the loaner they gave me has the same symptoms.
The ride was great! 1,100 miles in 30 hours. The drive assist saved me. Filmed a quick video with the lessons I learned on this trip - hope to publish by tomorrow. Averaged the 340-350 mile range Mercedes advertises. Thanks for asking
I just picked up my 450+ from CA and drove 800+ mils back to WA. Great and very comfortable. The most impressive part is range and charging. Typically charing in EA, 40 mins can do fully charge. After came back, my full range goes up from 350 to 430 miles
There will be no pre-owned market for EV vehicles. No one in their right mind would buy a vehicle that will potentially need a battery replacement that will cost more than what the car is worth. On a high mileage ICE vehicle it's nothing to rebuild an engine and double the lifespan of the vehicle. this needs to be considered when discussing environmental impact. It's more likely that used EV's from developed countries will end up on large diesel burning cargo ships and sent around the world to die a slow death and end up in toxic recycling yards.
Unlikely. The metals in the motors and batteries are quite valuable and can be recovered for new batteries. There are not enough old batteries to start recycling yet, but that will change. Further, battery packs do not fail all at once, there are already services that will replace individual cells and sub assemblies to prolong a packs life.
