While other brands have gesture controls for volume and other features, Mercedes-Benz has just a few features available using gestures - these are part of the interior assistance, which uses the interior assistant and driver's camera to allow you to open the sunscreen, initiate a favorite feature, turn on lights, adjust the side mirrors, and the car warns you if you move your hand too close to the door when another car is approaching.

Thanks for your tips/trick/etc for EQS580. There is literally no other EQS owner out there making these videos. I am looking forward to purchasing the EQS580 SUV in the next few months.

Thank you for the tip. We have to experiment with gestures to learn them. Our introduction was when a passenger spoke with her hands and accidentally opened the sunroof.

Thanks for these tips. I'm not sure if I want this feature active in my car. I frequently "talk" with my hands. I'll find random things happening (i.e. the passenger seat light comes on or the sunshade retracts) and it drives me nuts! And if I have people in the car who are not used to these features, it startles them. I've tried not talking with my hands, but to no avail. Alas, the interior assistant wasn't meant for people like me. 😄

I’ve been a lucky owner of EQS 580. Even the dealer wasn’t aware of any such advanced features. Can you share your tips for driver assistance? How to use drive pilot?

I've covered over a series of videos, but making a dedicated video on all aspects of auto driving seems reasonable. One key point - Drive Pilot is currently only available in select new vehicles in California and Nevada. I don't have that option, but the car is self driving - as l long as you touch the steering wheel every 45 seconds and the turns are not too tight.

Thanks, I just got my 2023 EQS 580 yesterday. Drive pilot is not part of this but would like to make use of level 2 cruise control that we have. Can you also do a video where we can use it during heavy traffic?

I’ve come out of aG Wagon in to an EQS 53, is there a way to automatically activate the front camera when front parking?

Not automatically, but it is a tap away. Not what you wanted to hear, but it becomes second nature once you get used to it.

It is an option, so your vehicles may not have this.

My car doesn't have fog lamps and I don't think any US EQS cars do. Having had them on other cars, I think the digital lights on the EQS are enough to not need the added lights.

You can turn the sounds off - I usually have the inside sounds off and rotate through the three outside sounds (or no sounds at all), depending on how I feel at the moment.
