Mercedes-Benz EQS vehicles - even without Drive Pilot - are able to essentially drive for you. The lane keeping feature keeps you in the middle of your lane, sometimes even driving better than you. In this video, I demonstrate how to set up the options required to maximize driver assistance and show how it works in freeway and city driving. Thanks to nishant kumar for recommending this topic.

Thank you for the video. I have the EQS580 SUV and was not aware it would stop and restart under cruise control. Mine does the same and lets you know about every minute to take hold of the steering when in assist mode. Thanks for providing more info on our "autopilots."

Did you know, outside NA to enable cruise control you just hit the set button and you don’t have to hit on/off button every time. Would be nice to get the feature here. Also with E316 software stop and go used to wait 30 seconds opposed to 15seconds timeout on auto resume. Why was it changed?

No idea why that changed, I appreciated the longer wait - but all I have to do is tap the accelerator and it kicks back in, so not a major issue.

Another great video! Thank you! One non related question though, at 0:43 you can see your rear seat headrests. I notice when i drive, the center seat head rest is always blocking my rear view window. Unless i fold the entire center seat down, it will block my view. Is there a way to remove that center seat head rest to keep the visibility?

The center head rest pops up every time you lower that section. There is a button on its right (driver's) side. Just push the button and fold the headrest back. I'll make a quick video to demonstrate this week 👍

When it comes to a complete stop, will it start again or do you have to tap the accelerator pedal?

If the stop is around 15 seconds, it will go on its own - the green cruise control light flashes while this is possible. Once it stops flashing, as long as you have not hit the brake or deactivated the cruise control, just tap the accelerator to get the car to 1mph and it will take over from there.

If I didn't need a sedan, I would get the SUV.

Do consider all the factors in getting an early model EV. Right now, demand for EVs is low, so our vehicles' value is dropping faster than other cars and MB is likely to revamp the EQ lineup, with greatly improved battery range and the Tesla charging port, in the next few years. I am thrilled with my EQS and know you will enjoy the EQS SUV, just want you to make an informed decision. Also, in my perspective, the hyperscreen is a MUST HAVE!
