This week we cover the process of a DIY reupholster on our W140 project’s B-pillars. This generation of S-Class had issues with the factory vinyl peeling back and these had been redone (poorly) in the past, so today we make them look a bit better.
See the rest of the project on our other channel, Wunderbar Garage.

Thanks for posting this video for removal of the trim. In regards to the removal on a 99 W140, one step that i would add is the need to remove the coat hook as well. The coat hook consists of a vinyl cover which you can slide up and off of the metal portion of the hook. Once that is done, you'll have access the phillips screw which attaches the hook to the b-pillar trim piece and clip behind it. This allows for the B-pillar trim to be pulled out from the top very easily.

I will caution you that it may not be long-lived in terms of the repair - I ended up replacing mine after they failed again about a year later, that time with OEM parts. Thanks for watching!

I’m trying to remove my central B pillar, (bottom half) on my W211, is this about the same way to do it?

I can't say for certain, as I haven't done any interior work on a 211. Sorry I can't be more help. Thanks for watching!

Where did you purchase the material from?

I'd recommend purchasing good used (or new, if available) trim pieces - these worked for a while but fell apart in the AZ heat after a couple years. Thanks for watching!

Original is vinyl on most - S600s got suede/alcantara. Thanks for watching!
