Excellent video. It's great to see a run through with all the pitfalls and issues. It's helped me decide whether I want to tackle this myself or hand it over to a garage. It was also really useful to know that there are other places where oil and coolant can potentially mix. It seems that these locations fail more often than the head gasket.

Honestly I am thinking about pulling the motor out of mine, I think she jumped timing which is just 1 problem with these..25 lb wet compression on#1 think she bashed a valve hopefully didn't take out the piston.Had a broken evt bolt on the exhaust cam plus a lot of wear on the cam gears (50000 mile life expectancy on the timing set) But we will see. Great Videos Bro. I will see if i can do the same for mine.

@@jorgepizarro3327 I bought it that way from a wrecker service .I did get the head off the cam was broke on the back on the exhaust side and the piston was not hurt still investigating.

@@phatboizbackyardkustomz9006 okay thank you because mine is having an issue with fluid/oil and or gasoline in the first piston. but I'm not losing any coolant and the timing gear is off so I'm hoping it's just a head gasket

Hello buddy. My w209 clk 200 just mixed oil in the coolant tank. So i guess its the damn faulty oil cooler since the car is low mileage and never overheated. I also noticed some oil leak right under the exhaust manifold area. Any clue whats under there assosiated with oil? Thank you!

Sorry mate not sure. Best to check with a coolant pressure tester. Otherwise it might be a good idea to get a professionals opinion before you start replacing things. Good luck!

hi! i'm changing head gasket too, did you reuse cylinder head bolts?

No, I believe they are torque to yield and cheap to replace. So I recommend you replace them.

That wasn't your first start. The fuel rail should have air and first start should never be that smooth. But, hey, good job. Could have done more troubleshooting, compression test, and research to pinpoint the problem was the failed cooling exchanger first. And now you have to flush the cooling system really well.

Derek Chung thanks for calling me a liar, but it was the first start. Notice how loud the engine was because it had no oil pressure? And I could have done more troubleshooting to pinpoint the problem, but if I did, these videos wouldn’t exist to help people when they have a similar problem. And I did flush the cooling system, I just didn’t film it. Got anything else to add?
