Mercedes Diesel Mechanical Fuel "Lift" Pump Operation: Overhaul Kit Reviewed 

This kit would appear to be for the MW style lift pump and not for the M style pump that was on earlier models in the US and Europe. A definite MUST DO job if your car is over 30 years old. Best if done along with a new replacement spring in the fuel overflow control valve bolt on the left side of the injection pump, and new fuel injector nozzles.

Worth a shot. Done everything else and still seems slow on the takeoff

I'm just wondering I'm new to MERCEDES world but I've just bought my self an om606 with a 603 fuel pump which I am going to fit into my landrover defender . What's making me curious is I don't see the om606 in any of your videos. Are you a fan of the om606 or don't you rate them very much thanks regards ron

Perfect timing. A couple weeks since after replacing my bad glowplugs with some monark ones(making sure to ream the precombustion chamber) I am again having hard starts. Takes like 30-45 seconds of cranking and a boat load of smoke before starting.(it's also been getting below freezing again here in CO. My primer pump I noticed leaks when pumped but not when running. Could I have a weak lift pump? If it's smoking it's getting fuel right? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Ken!

Is this the same unit on the side of a 406 Unimog injection pump? I am trying to repair our old 1975 (406). previous owner had a small 12 volt pump pulling fuel through the dip tube on the fuel tank - I just thought that this is the way they were running the fuel system. I also need a dip tube for the tank and I do not have a part number to search for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I would like to rebuild this back to original - what does your repair kit run? This would be great to rid of constantly bleeding air out of the fuel line, filters and having to remove lines to check fuel system.

Hey sir my pedal came out of the assembly and got stuck to the floor and my engine was maxed revved for maybe 20 seconds. Now it is reduced power lugs everywhere the water is not circulating so I’m buying water pump but I’m wondering what else could of been worn out due to the pedal coming out and sticking to the floor? What else do I need to look at
