This video goes over common maintenance issues that a lot of w212 owners face. Specifically, I am going over my 2010 E550 4MATIC and it's problems faced.
I've had my 2010 E550 sport sedan for 9 years now. Most reliable car I've ever owned out of 40 cars prob over 30 years. Outside of warranty issues (air suspension, dynamic seat air bag puncture, and rear door lock) not one issue except for hid bulb going out. Also starter just now replaced. Kept grinding slower and slower over about 2 years. It'll spin for about 4 seconds and then blow out blue and or white smoke from unburnt buildup. Did carbon test and was fine. New starter fixed it. Also newer w212 chassis rims look nicer and fit perfect. Had to replace 2 front bent rims causing vibration. Maintenance is key.
Thanks for all that info - glad to hear this is reliable MB. I am scared that MB maintanance intervalce are so bad though - like 1 oil change a year - Im about to get a 2011 E550, or possibly 2010 E550. Was looking at e350s before, but now I need the E550 with exhaust. What a beautiful machine.
Our family bought at 2010 E 550 in 2017, it had 44000kms on the clock at the time or about 27000miles. My dad owned and drove it for a while, until about 2021. He accumulated about 4000kms or 2700miles during that time period and decided that him and mom no longer needed two cars. (also owned a GLK 350 their second one). I posted his car to autotrader our canadian used car classified spot, and then realized my 2010 C class with about 100000kms or 60000miles could be sold instead. With about a 5k difference paid in cash, I ended up owning the e-class. Needless to say, tune, carbon fibre, wheels, exhaust later....and 78000kms or 48500miles on the clock in 2023 the car has been nothing but solid. The dynamic seats on the driver side had a bladder pop, so no more dynamic bolsters, but I didn't like that anyways. I replaced the rear air bags thinking they were leaking because the car would sag over a few days sitting. It wasn't the issue. A leaky line at the valve body for the air suspension in the rear bumper was the culprit. New line and fixed. New bags give me peace of mind. Rear blind spot radar sensors went because I was washing it in the winter and they were exposed because no more rear mufflers. Fixed that with used parts for about $500. Now it is getting winter stored in a heated garage and started monthly to keep fluids circulating. I move it in and out of the garage to get the transmission fluid moving. When spring hits its go time. I love this car so very much.
Don't bother with dynamic seats, replaced 3 times during warranty period. I was worried bladder would pop again, so I turned the feature off. Slush on the highway during winter time took out the sensor for the lane change assist. Had one suspension issue with one rear air bag leaking, but luckily it was covered during warranty and haven't had a single issue after 100K miles. Biggest complaint was that throttle response was terrible on the E550, replaced with NGK spark plugs and response has drastically improved.
Nice car, very clean look. Just looking for where you got paint matched side markers, it's exactly what I'm looking for, most choices are smoked or clear I've found. Thanks for the time.

I have a 2012 S212 and Independent Mercedes Specialists servicing centres (Shops) can do ALL servicing INCLUDING AUTOMATIC GEARBOX FLUID CHANGES) with access to Mercedes Germany’s systems and are all ex Mercedes mechanics. Similarly here no one takes their Benz to the overpriced dealerships for the same reasons after their warranty expires. 👍🏻🏴
If anyone is still considering one of these, great bang for your buck, air suspension didn’t have problems until 150kish miles, never had any engine issues

Which exhaust and tune did you give her? I just learned today that only the sedan has an all-wheel drive option. Essentially making a stock sedan as fast as my Coupé.
Question - I still have the stock calipers and rotors. They suck. Rotors warp quickly and replace pads often. What are you using? Do you still have problems with them? Also what rims and tires do you have? I have 2010 e550
Just subscribed, I own a 2017 mustang GT and a 2014 srt8 chally, really thinking of trading in both for this ride, I got my eye on a used one for 14K with 97K miles, but your videos say they're reliable and I love the 4 doors on this car the exhaust sounds amazing, I'm just worried about the mileage on the one I might get anyway great video brotha
Is a Mercedes Benz A001989240310 multi grade oil good for transmission oil change for a e550 2012 4matic sedan ? I changed my oil and the car won't move again forward or backwards after shifting gears successfully. I hope I have not damaged my transmission if at all replacing the oil completely may be able to correct/reverse anything wrong with the car ? Please advise 🙏 urgently
Im having the same problem with air suspension on my e550 , it leaks air during night , but what im worried about the noise they make only in the morning when i drive through potholes ,did you have this problem ?
@@yrgtv7658 oh my bad I thought you meant you wanted 4matic awd without the suspension. The only way you would find that is if someone like me bought the car and then put coilovers on to replace the bags. But yes a rwd should be out there somewhere
@@nabeelmustafa8651 did . Before you spend money on another repair double check the basics like spark plugs . Turns out 2 completely lost the gap even tho I changed them very recently . But I also changed my MAF sensor and cleaned the throttle body which helped . All in all I changed the fuel pump ,coils , spark plugs , MAF, clean the TB and I also changed the crankshaft position sensor . My car has 128k miles currently Side note__ don’t believe what the first person tells you either , I took it to some shop before Ik it was the sparks and he said since it had no cats he couldn’t do a accurate scan so he said he can put them back for 1k LOL. And then said it could be the ECU . Bad mechanic or scammer .
