It's very simple to remove the overhead console in your Mercedes Benz C-Class or CLK; the only tool you'll need is a credit card or plastic trim removal tool. This procedure can be used to replace the overhead light bulb or to remove the overhead console to retract your sunroof in an emergency.

Are you able to change all light bulbs from the outside.

Not so simple on CLK A209. The console has two screws on the top. You have to open the roof and unclip the plastic cover. Thanks for the video. Helped to find out.

OK, how do you get to them? I kind of tore my console up, I kept pulling on the plastic to the point that I broke them. My A209 has a solid plastic cover over the top, so how do you get to those screws?

@@r.toddwaddell941 The plastic cover (Paneling - A 20 969 307 91) is held by 6 (or about) plastic clips. Pull it off. You will have access to the screws. Rather easy even if the clips have a lock but be sure to have few spare clips. I broke one doing this.
